Patrick Taylor, meh.

Why not this guy, he’s on the practice squad?

My guess is they trust Patrick Taylor as a pass blocker

Holding on the starting kickoff, but I think the clincher was bumping the official afterwards. I think that was what really lit up MLF on the sidelines.

The Packers have something with these rookies man. I'll readily admit I was dead wrong on the Reed pick. He looks great

If ever there was an argument for play calling and scheming guys open, it's MLF's '23 season. Outside of his forced throws to Watson, Love is tossing to wide open dudes and letting them run.

I'll have to find the tweet going around last week but the chart had Watson as basically the most double-teamed guy in the league going into last week's game. One more great playmaker next year and Reed emerging and suddenly Watson makes some huge plays with attention taken off of him, etc.

Packers D still 24th in DVOA. Special teams showing out this year at 31st.

This is a poorly coached team across the board.

I was at the game and near the end of the field it happened. Looked at my wife and told her he'd be gone by next week, and BOOM. Such an idiotic decision on his part.

Most in the NFL? So it seems he isn't that bad in deep balls.

I'm not saying coaching is a nothing-burger but your Special Teams thing reminds me of how fans love to overreact to coaching when it's probably not as much of the issue.

Nothing illustrates this more than a special teams unit, where events like missing a FG or having a random fluke of a play somehow reflect on a coach. Again, I'm not saying it means nothing, but...

"Fire ST coach, fire ST coach, fire ST coach."

"OK, fine. And we'll hire the hottest ST coach in the game."

"Special teams is 31st. Bad coaching."

What's the next move? Overpay John Harbuagh to take a demotion and return to his home of ST coaching?

He fairly got criticized early on for his deep passing, but he's been much better the last few weeks

Yeah fans love scapegoating coaches. But I do think Nixon foolishly bringing it out of the end zone is a coaching thing, tell him if he does it again he's not the return man anymore.

But things like dudes missing tackles or not staying in their lanes is a player problem. Now maybe they should put different players on ST but it's hard to really judge that as a fan.

I would assume part of the reason this special teams unit is rated poorly is:

1. Rookie kicker that has missed some kicks.
2. A shell of a roster that is chock full of rookies and throw a **** of injuries on top of that which probably thins out your ST talent.

Coaching isn't nothing - you're probably right on the Nixon thing. Barry is probably a negative impact with the defense.

However, we're now swinging the pendulum back to MLF maybe not being the "worst coach ever" or whatever because his rookies are starting to get their feet under them.

Taylor is the Packers drunk late night hookup buddy. Both sides know it won't lead anywhere long term but it's easy and familiar. :)

Aaron Jones injury update: Packers RB week-to-week with MCL sprain, unlikely to play Thanksgiving, per report
Jones, who was carted off in tears, says he feels like he 'caught a break'
By Garrett Podell

Jones is dealing with an MCL sprain and is considered week-to-week, according to ESPN, and unlikely to play Thursday. The Packers are set to face the Lions at 12:30 p.m. ET at Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day, and the short week definitely works against Jones suiting up.

Good. I don't want his last game as a Packer end by limping off the field.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The way I read it is completions that led to 30+ yard pass plays. Not 30+ air yard completions. Or am I wrong. Feel like that is a big difference (do agree he HAS looked better past couple weeks on the deep balls)
