Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Would anyone trade Rozier and Gordon for Klay Thompson, Moody and Cory Joseph?
Yes, Klay sucks. But we'd get out of Roziers contract.
I'd be shocked if GS did it, but Rozier and Gordon are, at this point, better than Klay if they want to get Steph some help this season.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Klay and Cory are vets, Thompson will get his shot back and moody is a prospect, so I’d definitely think about it. I think Klays history will make GSW hesitant to trade him

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
who can't resist a SG rotation of Klay, Moody, NSJ, Bailey, McGowens, Bouknight, and Ntilikina, none of whom can feasibly run point or play SF lol
I wouldn't hate that deal, but would want to move Klay along for a different piece I think

investigate Adam Silver

Best GSW target would be CP3

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Bouknight should be gone, the rest are g league level really.
Thybulle is coming off the bench for Portland, can we get him?
He’d be our best perimeter defender and this season our best 3 pt shooter. Who woulda thought

This is a we suck, no better deals at the deadline type of trade. Moody is a solid rotation piece but nothing that changes our outlook IMO. As far as the Warriors go, this isn't really a big upgrade for them either.
If they want to shake things up they will have better options. They have 3 large contracts they can move for matching, 2 that are expiring in Klay and cp3. Then they have assets they can attach to make a deal work in Podz, Moody, Kuminga and still have the ability to trade 2 firsts. If they are going to make a move I think it would be a Pascal, Lavine, Markkanen level of trade.

Thybulle has started 9/11 games for Portland. Hornets had a chance to snatch him last year if they were big fans, just seems like an Ayo situation where we passed 1 time, hard to see us trying to go get that player now for likely a more expensive price tag.

Klay Thompson is cooked!
Saying that he still fits with Melo. I would entertain it, but we can't overpay him in FA. He's going to ask for a lot of money.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Here's a trade idea that helps us this season + opens up more flexibility for next:
Terry + Bouknight to SAS for Devonte, McDermott and Barlow.
Would love it if we could parlay that into getting our frp back in exchange for multiple seconds as well. SAS need a veteran and Charlotte needs shooting and a backup PG. We'd release Ish after this.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
The players are not the problem. We have plenty of talent on this team.
The Heat would win the championship with our guys.
They went to the finals last year with a guy we cut as one of their best players.
People are going to say Jimmy, but what was Jimmy before the Heat got him. A guy who was traded by the Bulls, traded by the T-Wolves, traded by the 76ers. The 76er couldn't win when they had Embiid, Tobias, Simmons, and Jimmy.
Why do the Heat win and we don't?
1. They don't try to win with a team full of 20-22 year old guys. Nobody has every won with that. If you are always giving up and playing the younger guys, you are always going to be the farm team.
2. The heat salary is 180 million (7th) ours is 133 (third from last). The teams that win spend money. It happens every year. The Heat currently have 50 million worth of bad contract between D. Robinson and Lowry, but they are still getting something from Robinson and can use that salary for a trade.
3. The heat pay more for their coach also. JB was one of the lowest paid coaches in the league. Last time we tried to hire a guy he changed his mind during negotiations and we ended up going with a retread option. I don't even know what to say about this. I can't think of another major sports team that something like this has happened to.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
What would you guys trade for Zach? Would you consider taking a flyer on Lonzo for next season?
Something based around Lavine + Lonzo for Haywood (expiring), Rozier (salary dump) and some FRPs to the Bulls?
Move forward with a youngish core of Lamelo, Lonzo, Zach, Miller, Bridges & Richards.

There is no way we deal Miller or Mark Williams as part of any deal for Lavine. Our core with Lavine must be Melo, Miller, Bridges and Williams. I’d hate to trade PJ despite his inconsistency as we need him off the bench and as a “pull in case of fire” option for a starter’s injury. That doesn’t leave much to deal to the Bulls other than Hayward and Rozier.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Trading for Lonzo is definitely going to reduce your pick compensation. He's cooked

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
I don't think we have the contracts that we would realistically trade.
Gordon would be for salary, and Rozier would probably be in to because there is no reason to have him with LaVine on the team.
I doubt Chicago would want PJ.
And no way we'd trade Mark or Miller.
The issue then becomes, since we owe a 1st round pick already, we probably don't have the draft picks to trade either.
So unless LaVine is a lot cheaper than expected (which wouldn't be that surprising), and can be had with Gordon + Rozier + a 1st or two, I can't see us be in the running.
This sort of feels like someone was looking at contracts that could match, and since we have Rozier/Mark/Miller being a near prefect contract match, they put us in the running.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #5
Gordon + Terry + Martin for Lonzo + LaVine works.
I think 1 1st round pick from us evens the value. Chicago saves a lot of money and we get the best player.
