I don’t think the Blazers had anything to lose trading for DA though. I wouldn’t label the trade as who won the deal, I think both teams got what they wanted. Portland also got Camara, so that’s a plus for them.

Camara, liked the kid in summer league, I think he'll be a good 7-10 man someday but hes playing absolutely terrible so far 35% fg...not that he would have gotten any playing time here anyways.

Hope people are not **** and don't boo. Booing should be reserved for the Horrys and Morris of the world.

Will be interesting to see what Detroit does the next 9-12 months. I think Monty is a good coach and culture setter BUT his style doesn't work with all players. Detroit needs to figure out the core young dudes who are bought in and then trade the others away and add a couple Monty vets.

Thompson looks like a keeper, Duren has a ton of upside. They really need Cade to take a leap from good to great. Ivey looks like he's in Monty's doghouse and probably someone they should trade.

Or a combined ‘Not unhappy they are gone’ thread
Might as well toss in CP too

Are you crazy??

It's HateBowl tomorrow.
Ha yeah that will be interesting. I expect Ayton to play well, this should actually motivate him for a night.

I expect he'll get boo'd but I've always thought no reaction at all is a sneaky slap in the face. The 'I don't even think of you' Don Draper reaction to a returning player.

It will be nice when we can move on from Ayton discussion. I will be pretty surprised if he plays well. All they really have his Sharpe who isn't a great passer and Grant who only tries to score, outside of Camara and Mays, who are 2nd round picks. Mays was just converted from a 2 way. Their team is ugly.

I never saw them with Simons but even when they had Brogdon and Scoot it was pretty ugly since they have no spacing, but now with none of those guys, they are very very bad. You don't need to respect the 3 pt line so all we really need to do is pack the paint. Maybe put our best defender on Grant...but it won't matter a lot.

I think with the fans going wild, the pressure, and the state of their team spells a recipe for disaster for him. I can see like 2-7 from the field, 4-5 turnovers or something...with 8 boards.

Then why do we suck with a Championship Coach in charge?

I thought JJ dominated the Nets when acquiring KD and absolutely robbed Washington when acquiring Beal for CP3.

If all of these are true, why are we struggling to beat even the bottom feeders. We got beat twice by the Spurs along with the Lakers?

It appears that Monty is struggling due to Cade sucking. He can't shoot, cant;s pass and turns it over at an alarming rate. Duren is injured and Ivey sucks as well. Those were his three best players.

Sound familiar. What would our record be without Durant?

We don't suck, we are 7-6, good enough to be 7th in the West and we have won 3 in a row.

We just had injuries and we didn't have Booker and Beal for too many games.

I've always found In & Out to be greatly overrated, but I'll say this much ......

I can still get two double doubles (animal style) w/fries and a drink and it's only like $14. If I get something comparable from another fast food burger chain it's easily gonna cost me $20 or so. Good on them for not hammering people with significantly raised prices.

When your best players are hurt or not playing well it's hard to win in the NBA. That's not exactly breaking news.

But yeah if Durrant was hurt along with Booker and Beal they would probably lose a lot. Pathetic and they should probably contract the franchise :)

its funny that a guy like beal is considered overrated because he played on bad team but put up good numbers yet ayton cant put up numbers on a bad team and gets a pass from his fans. Im actually quite surprised hes doing so poorly. book would still be book even on the current blazers team. so i guess im still not sure where DA lands....probably somewhere in the middle of suns DA and blazers DA

Portillos is good but if you're local to Phoenix you have to try Luke's on Indian School and 16th Street. Super good sausage and beef.

My other unsolicited recommendation is Georges Gyros. One in Mesa and his son has a spot in south Scottsdale. I love gyro's and they make the best.

Well it's obviously a lot different when you are a primary ball handler. Also, for a guy like Ayton, he is going to play much better with an offense that can space the floor and Portland can't, so he is very tough to utilize on offense unless you want him to go like 1 on 2 or 3...but generally the space is so packed there isn't much for passing lanes to get him the ball. Surely if you've watched them you've noticed this. I haven't watched them a ton but have tuned in a few times and it's the exact same thing every time, and often when Grant has the ball he does get open but Grant just wants to score himself. Most (or all) of the guards are shoot first as well.

He doesn't look good, but the team offense overall just looks like a mess. It's ugly...and with Simons, Scoot and Brogdon out it obviously doesn't help.

We should be able to pad our point differential with in season tourney games against Portland tonight and Memphis Friday (without Ja, Smart, Adams or Clarke).
