Hope we continue it. Im more optimistic this time compared to the Vuc Era hot start we had.

Yea that hot start not sustainable. We were shooting historical 3pt numbers. This time around we have the defensive personnel to sustain this. We also seem mentally tougher now.

The manic defensive effort will also take its toll, don't forget. Very tough to keep up that intensity over a full gruelling season, not to mention avoiding injuries.

I'm enjoying the hell out of it, but we have to be realistic too.

That's true...hopefully, Black accelerates, at least defensively, so that he and Suggs can sort of take turns at turning up the pressure. I love what Cole said about he (and others on the bench) are watching Suggs and frothing to keep up the intensity when they hit the floor...shooting isn't infectious, but defensive energy definitely is.

It's feeling like tonight is going to be a humbling match for us, which would be just fine overall.
But I can't wait to see how we do!

It's impossible not to love this team

Joker going to get his, we have to limit the others.
Outside of Joker, I think we match up well with them, when they don't have Murray.

Murray is out

They already had one ugly loss this week, Cavs whooped them out of arena

You're right, but every time I worry about our hot start I remember the same team went roughly .500 last season with less defensive intensity and the same poor offense. The nice thing about 9-5 is we don't need to keep winning at this pace to make the play-in. If they want more, they'll have to figure something out. One good one might be learning how to maintain leads without keeping the same intensity for 48 minutes.

Yeah the previous two games have earned a lot of patience and goodwill from me. They can't win every game.

But I hate declaring wins and losses based on perceived team strengths. Upsets happen all the time, both good and bad.

We shouldn't put that evil on them when we're one of the most fragile teams in the league. (No comment on how we sometimes play better with a couple of injured players...)

We already got hit with 2 of our starters.. just saying.. lol

Me saying "when they don't have Murray" was the understanding that "they don't have Murray now".

What's funny about that Cavs game, the Cavs were beating them BEFORE Jokic got ejected. The only quarter DEN won was the 4th.

Yeah, I like to have both WCJ and Goga for Jokic and Embiid. 12 big body fouls.
JI and MO can't offer much if he goes down low.

We just have to keep playing the same way no matter who we play.

The teams that have beaten the Magic have all had real high level offensive brainiacs on the court. High IQ stars who can pick apart our D.

Plus Dinwiddie.

Given its Joker Time, I'd be very pleasantly surprised if we could keep it close or sneak a win. Off a high intensity game yesterday, it seems really unlikely.

But this team like to surprise me lately so why the hell not?!

4,327 days

That’s how long we went between starts like this (9 wins within the first 15 games)

On January 16th, 2012, Ryan Anderson dropped 30 to lead us to our 9th win of the year, over Carmelo’s Knicks. No player on either team is in the NBA this year.

Other battles that night include:

Rookie standout Kyrie Irving drops 25 points to beat the Bobcats

A 7 year old Anthony Black watched Dirk & Dallas fall to the Andrew Bynum Lakers by a score of 73-70, despite holding LAL to 7 points in the 3rd quarter

Lebron James, still seeking his first championship, lost to the Chris Paul led Clippers the day before

I want to win this game and all games. If I had to choose, I much more prefer we beat Boston.

If we end up tied at the end of the season, it could give us the tie breaker.
