In figuring out how to use this guy, getting him out of the phone booth inside is pretty interesting idea. There aren’t too many people with a swim move coming down from that angle. That was some explosion too

If he ever gets good at anticipating the snap, the tools are going to work. If the Bears get another edge, the D-line will have a good foundation all across

Wow. That 2nd base throw. JT says Stroud plays with better than anticipation that any QB he has seen enter the league.

Tough to see any quarterback from either of these 2 drafts being better than Stroud. We may have already missed the boat yet again on the elite franchise quarterback for the taking. The Bears are so good at this. And there’s always *reasons and circumstances* for us to avoid the quarterback because we have more important and smarter things to do.

I understand they wanted to see Fields play one more season to evaluate him. So there are no excuses this time around. Draft Field's replacement and see if you can bag a 2nd rounder for him. Take Drake Maye #1 and if Harrison is gone before our own pick trade down and still get a top receiver like Rome Odunze.

CW def has the talent.
I think Nix could lead a chain moving low mistake offense too.

The Bears would be so fun right now if we had Stroud. That kid is already top 5 QB. So fun to watch.

At least we punted and didn't take Bryce over him so we can still dream about Caleb or Drake or even JF turning out to be the guy along with having DJ Darnell etc. Granted we'll probably pick the "Trubisky" of the QB options again if we go QB, I'm convinced its an immovable curse stronger than the Billy Goat at this point. But yeah if we could go back in time you take Stroud all day the guy has been a stud.

We'll need to find the roots of our QB curse if we want to break it. Did we trade away an elite QB in 1947 or something?

The thing with Nix, and one of the reasons I would be open to drafting him, is that he is not mistake prone. 35 TDs against only 2 INTs. Zero fumbles this season, and he often plays in bad weather in Oregon. And he's #1 in accuracy. There are better runners at QB. Caleb has that Mahomes-like creativity. But Caleb can hold the ball too long. He can cough it up trying to do the spectacular. Nix is very much like Joe Burrow. And that I can live with. Move the chains. Keep time of Possession. Be efficient. Don't beat yourself. I can't determine how high Nix will go. I've seen everywhere from # 5 to the 2nd round. The Patriots for sure need a QB. So do the Giants. And the Falcons. Maybe Tampa and the Raiders too. I'm pretty sure Arizona will take Harrison at #2 if we don't grab him at #1. He's the player most likely in the draft to play in multiple Pro Bowls. If we add him, a Center, and resign Mooney I think it makes whichever QB we start next season that much better. But let Coach Harbaugh make the decision (wishful thinking.)

The draft is a crapshoot. What if Justin blows up on the next team, while Maye stinks it up and MHJ is gone? You ready for another "if only we had done X" moment to mourn for the next decade?

Pretty wild numbers being posted in the whole thread. The Oline is just now shaping up, and the weapons haven't always been there, but ideally you want your franchise QB doing some wizardry and making everyone's life easier on 3rd down.

That is a big problem with this team. The O-line is at their worst on obvious passing downs and sometimes the play-calling is suspect. Fields has his problems, but it is more than that.

Think of the last game...that last two Detroit drives. OBVIOUS passing downs....but our D-line wasn't getting sacks and Detroit was hitting the RB and stuff underneath with ease. I've pointed this out before, we almost NEVER seem to hit RB's out of the backfield on 3rd and long. We have very strange play selection. Detroit had no problem moving the ball and our defense on obvious passing downs was nowhere to be found.

Hard to believe that the next time we win two games in a row will be the FIRST time Flus or Poles has ever won two games in a row in Chicago.

I wonder if Warren’s eyebrows raised like mine, when Ian Rapoport reported that the Bears (Poles) would have to be “Blown away” (again) to take a quarterback with their top pick. Poles is saying this again in the same language, literally at a moment while Stroud is terrorizing the countryside.

We can also wonder if Warren raised his eyebrows when his GM gave the dreaded vote of confidence to the head coach that Poles hired who seems out of his depth as a head coach.

I hope Warren knows that if they are outgoing they can't be allowed to make any of their patented QB decisions before they go.

GMs main job by far is to get the QB right, without excuses. Most important position in sports.

Wll there's how a GM feels and what he says to the media, often very different. So who knows.
