Everyone knows I am anti-Jae. I don't believe in Jae rights. BUT! He'd be useful tonight, I think.

Re: Around the League - Harden to the Clippers
I’m intrigued to see what they do with Jrue in the offseason. He’s obviously opting out and going to want a max contract, but they are already a second apron team before giving him a raise and locking in being a second apron team for the foreseeable future.
I mean they could trade Al and Pritchard to save some money and try to duck under the apron but would they really trade their sixth starter? That’s a massive strategic advantage to give up since all other basketball teams in history only had five starters.

I don't think Jrue is getting another max deal.

Why wouldn’t the guys who is CP3 on offense and prime Payton on defense get a max?
But in all seriousness, if Jrue isn’t getting a larger deal then he got before, I could absolutely see him opting in and retiring after next season. I can’t see a scenario where he keeps playing while taking a Midds-esque team friendly deal.

IDK, a max for Jrue would be pushing what 50 mil at this point? I can't imagine he gets that from anyone. But he's not all of a sudden going to take a 15-20 mil. You'd probably have to keep him in the 30s or someone else will though. One of the reasons besides he has forgotten how to shoot in all our playoffs I wanted to trade him now was that impending let's say 4/135ish type deal after this season for his ages 34-38 years. Obviously if he gets even more money than that my point/fear is even moreso.

Not so subtle shot at an old teammate. A lot was made about Ayton and Monty Williams rift but there were times last season where Booker looked like he wanted to slap Ayton for losing focus.

Championship contenders aren't cheap, if I were a Boston fan I'd want them to pay everyone. Contrary to what some around here seem believe there isn't any banners for fiscal responsibility.Daver wrote:tedbrogen wrote:I’m intrigued to see what they do with Jrue in the offseason. But if they do cut costs they could easily move Brown. People freak out about over pays but they would have plenty of interest if they made him available.

So, Shaq was the #1 on that team even though he averaged 18.4 PPG in the playoff to Wade's 28.7? Shaq was the #1 in the Finals averaging 13.7, which was less than Antoine Walker, while Wade averaged 34.7?
Make it make sense.

The Celtics bus accidentally left Jrue Holiday behind after the Hornets loss.
By NBA rules he now gets claimed by whatever team he last played a regular season game for and the Celtics have to pay his salary.

Sometimes, you gotta admire when someone digs themselves into a hole (like saying Wade was never the best player on a title team) and responds by continuing digging.

He always has the option to play for $40M next season then retire. His apparent willingness to walk away is big leverage over the Celtics because his salary slot evaporates. I’d assume he would want at least 4/160-180 and someone will give him that.imo (another reason the Bucks were smart to trade him)
Gotta keep in mind he went from severely underrated to probably overrated. Got cats out there calling him the best defensive player in the league. If he’s the best defensive player in the league, how many points would Jimmy have scored on anyone else?

Oh pipe down, Pop. Ridiculous. I love how the crowd gave him a "f*ck you" by booing louder.

I thought I watched the most embarrassing thing on a basketball court watching the first half of the bucks game. I was wrong.

Guessing Popovich gets fined for this. Can’t have coaches doing that stuff.

You really can't see a scenario where a guy is making $35m to play a game? Guys talk about retiring all the time because of the grind. Very few actually do.
