For as much as it looks like we don't matchup with them defensively at all, and it still is the case, it was once again the offense being the main culprit for the loss. Too many tricked layups in the end. Giannis absolutely needs to sort himself out in this matchup.

Both of the times AG went with lineups without both GA and Lillard were inexcusable and I would need to look, but think we were -18 or so in those minutes.

Also the young guys still look overmatched by a real team .. not sure how to fix that... keep getting them regular minutes and keep let them cover the other teams' best players.. run some plays with them in the middle of the action

Khris’s minutes increased but he’s still not 100%. In the first half he was deferring on open looks, which was odd. Cooked on defense but so was everyone else.

Brook had a nice game.

Giannis can play smart basketball for a game or two and then reverts back.

Dame missed shots in the first half, still damn glad we have him come playoff time. Dame needs to initiate EVERY possession. EVERY. POSSESSION.

perfect analysis.

only thing i'll add is that khris, with his rest, played MUCH better defense against the guys he would need to guard in the 2nd half. offense looked better too

small point but wanted to add it. if we burn ajj and marjon whoever out early on their wings then i think a fresh khris might be a reasonable finish on them

Scoreboard makes us look better than we were. Giannis was horrific.

Boston is not better than us in any way. Their defense was trash. Make an occasional layup and this is a win.

Also, someone please take Dame's watch and cheat it ahead a few minutes. Sleepwalking until Dame Time is unnecessary.

Giannis did the thing he does where he missed easy ones early, then tried to press and get them back, leading to a cascade of mistakes and tricked shots. We've seen that one before.

Middleton's lateral agility isn't coming back. Nobody's fault, but damn.

Dre should be with the starters getting 20-25 a night. Let him learn and grow with the best guys.

I don't leave this one thinking Boston is unbeatable, but they're probably favored a bit. I think they're more likely to blow the hinges off from three than us, which can just run away with games on its own.

Concerns for both teams from this game:

Middleton's knee
Giannis bbiq
Beasley unplayable

Celtics:

Still choking games
Defensive rebounding
Brown still can't dribble
Jrue still can't shoot

Giannis games vs non elite teams are utterly meaningless IMO. All of his troubles are specifically vs good teams, not the bums he beats up on. Doesn't matter how many 40-50 point games he has on 80% shooting, he needs to be able to consistently have a strong approach vs good teams, and he still doesn't. More concerning is that his defense is middling. If he is being asked to defend the perimeter with regularity I'm not even sure he's a plus defender at all. He needs to be firmly planted in the paint defensively protecting the rim, not getting tangled and lost on basic screen actions.

Obviously nice to come back given how crap we were, but still, we look like we will only do what the smart thing to do is if absolutely necessary. Dame has to stop worrying about stepping on Giannis' toes and demand the offense be run through him, he's point blank the better offensive player.

How do we get someone on the bench that will tell Giannis he's a big dumb idiot sometimes? Could we hire his mother as a coach possibly?

Khris's mobility is going to be a massive issue against this team.

We lost by almost 50 at home to the Celtics 2 weeks before the playoffs last season.

I'll take a 3pt loss on the road to Boston in November as progress lol.

Would have been a great win but if Boston has to play that well to beat us by 3 when we laid a collective egg, I'll take it.

Also, we're a deeply unserious team if our plan is to play Malik Beasley in a playoff series against these guys. Absolutely BBQ'd

This felt like Boston’s good game and Bucks playing at 50% of their potential but still lost only for 3. Not worried, not mad at all.

MarJon and AJJ are our best non Midds wings. Please Grif play them more.

I've definitely seen enough up 20 pull your foot off the gas games to not be too high on this 3 point loss.

Still amazed by how little Giannis and Dame pick and roll we see every night.

It's time for Marjon to move into the starting line up and closing line up. Beasley offeres nothing defensively and Marjon needs the playing time in crunch time situations.
