Pretty easily JB. My favorite game of his this season. Not the efficient scoring but more so the passing. If he can do that, even if he’s struggling scoring, the Celtics will be really hard to beat

Jaylen curl with an option to throw the lob was something Mazzulla put in last season. The only problem being Rob is not as good an offensive player as KP and also he played half the games.

Was this the best game Jaylen has ever played? He was phenomenal and picked up the slack for a sick Tatum.

I don't know if White touched it but Dame tried to dunk it cos he knew White was behind him to swat that ball away if he laid that in soft.

The Celtics took care of business for 3 quarters.

It's only natural that the Bucks would make some sort of a run.

If the Celtics were not good for 3 quarters then this would've been a different story.

We really only "took care of business" in the first. We only outscored them by a total of 3 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, then got outscored by 12 in the final Q.

The 2023 NBA champs outscored their competition by an average of 3.4 points per game last season. You can't win every game by 48. That's just not how it works.

Our defense wasn't great after the first. And we had a 21 point lead we squandered well before the 4th. Good win, but we almost let it slip away.

Good team win.
7 was very good.
JT toughed out a nice line under the weather.
Zinger & Derrick were solid.
Jrue great D & 8R.
Al solid.
Sam & Payton were nice contributors. Playing w confidence.

However, I did not like the last quarter yet again.
They closed poorly again.

**** Dame.

In my opinion, because of Porzingis lack of real playoff experience, the Celtics are trying to get through to him about those technicals. They can really hurt in the playoffs.

I saw a number of players talking to him after his technical tonight.

Who knows? Maybe it was my imagination

I think Golden State a few years ago has really made people’s expectations of contenders too high.

You can’t win every game by 20+.

Particularly in todays NBA where there is so much talent and offensive prowess.

Bucks were always going to make some sort of push.

Porzingis needs to stop with the flopping. He does it too much and the refs aren't interested in calling those fouls. Maybe the reason he gets a bad whistle. I think we were up 10, he flops and Dame takes the ball, then gets T'd up. That was an awful sequence for him. Play smarter.

26 points on 16 shots. 8 assists and only 1 turnover! WHO IS THIS GUY?! And we almost wasted one of his best RS games as a Celtic. JB's scored a ton against the Bucks before but I prefer him closer to this version esp in this current iteration of the team.

Please please keep this up. Just makes our team that much deadlier.

JB had his best game in a LONG time IMO. This is the kind of clear thinking selfless superstar I want you to be JB, excellent VC game.

Horford just shades KP for CP IMO.

Dame time is such a wank, if you can play like that, why wait that long? All to make him look like a hero when it pays off with no responsibility if it doesn't because they were too far back.

This game should never have been this close. A 3 point game means the offense broke down the last 6 minutes and so did the defense. I don't like seeing Porzingis shooting 7 3's, even though he made 2. TO's may be contagious, White had 6 the game after Holiday had 7. And they ARE the two best ball handlers on the Celtics. Great game by Jaylen, sub-standard Tatum but still All-Star Level, Horford and Porzingis combined to be extremely impactful in 58 combined minutes. Horford and Hauser were amazing. I almost want to vote for the H's but Jaylen did have a great game too.

An alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+25.5 Jaylen Brown 35 minutes
+22.5 Jayson Tatum 36 minutes
+19 Al Horford 31 minutes

+17.5 Kristaps Porzingis 27 minutes

+10.5 Derrick White 35 minutes
+10 Sam Hauser 20 minutes

+7.5 Payton Pritchard 21 minutes
+4.5 Jrue Holiday 35 minutes

Team Total = 117

First 42 minutes were all I ask for from these guys on offense. Sight to behold. Just keep making the extra pass for a better shot.

I like our chances against the Bucks in the playoffs and tonight just reaffirmed it.

We have enough defensive weapons to worry their offense enough. No team is capable of shutting down a team with Dame and Giannis, just not possible. But we can worry them enough.

Offensively, they have nobody capable of worrying Tatum.

The more underrated part of their defense is I don’t think anyone can really bother Jaylen enough like a team like Miami does. He got to wherever he wants with ease.

Porzingis also causes all sorts of issues for Lopez.

Al with the hockey assist on the Hauser dunk. He made that play happen with his strong board and quick outlet pass to Jaylen.

Refs took away Porzingis's defense at the rim for the entire 4th Qtr, with those 5 phony foul calls on him.

Dame and Lopez could only score at the rim at will, without Porzingis in. Otherwise, they were ineffective.
