Facts, he was the fall guy. Bubble gum Joe should have gone first

Then he’s coming off the bench.

I have nothing but love for Marcus and what he did to bring a rebuilding team out of the depths.

But now we have Holiday and White running the show - it’s a calculated move as it’s the time to strike. No time to be sentimental.

And Smart netted us Porzingis who offers us something completely different to anything we’ve had since KG.

Deal had to be done and I’m tired of people bringing up Smart at any opportunity like how dare we move on the point of this team who had given his all but ultimately a team led by him hadn’t won a chip.

Unlike that tweeter also prefer to make my proper observations on this team in April/May. In the year we made the finals the team stunk it up until January. The season is very long.

Ugly win. We’ve been playing meh to finish games the past 3 games. I guess i’ll give the Vc to brown, with porzingis a close second. JT gets a pass on this one. White was decent. Horf was great on D, but still passive on offense, other than chucking 3’s. Jrue needs to come out of this slump for us to really take off. Oh well, a win is a win. On to the next game against celtics killer magic
Team.

It’s just about making the right play, and hitting shots. Doesn’t matter if you’re going fast, or methodically.

The Celtics are at their best when they attack with purpose and exploit mismatches and defensive miscommunications.

None of this happens when Tatum walks the ball up and dribbles for 15 seconds before attempting a pick and roll or going 1 on 1.

It'd be surprising if the maths for slowing down the game hasn't been done to death. Every team slows it down. Getting 0.3 ppp better (pulling numbers out the ass here) by pushing the ball is probably not worth giving the opposing team extra 10 seconds per possession.

I guess I'm the only one who thought the 4th wasn't as bad as the points made it seem. We we were up 16 until about 7ms left, against the Bucks. Dame did Dame things and Lopez was just taller than the guys near the bucket. The momentum didn't change on the Porzi tech (didn't help), I thought Jrue didn't help it when he challenged Lopez and Giannis (i think) and wasn't near getting a bucket, then it changed when Lopez got his tech, IIRC. I thought it was those 3 moments combined that weren't good, but Porzi Tech was the least of it IMO.

Enjoy these games against the Bucks because we might not see them in the playoffs.

Sixers will take out the Bucks in the 2nd round.

They won. I guess that's all that matters and health. This team will only truly be judged come playoff time anyway. You'd like to think they'd build good habits in tight games but it won't matter till then regardless.

If I was coach I would want to be mixing things up late.

And to be honest I’m not just talking about the last 2-3 mins.

We start walking the ball up with 6-7 mins to go in some games. I’ll never forget us basically stopping playing against Miami in game 7 of the 2022 ECF and allowing Miami to storm back.

Push the ball when the chance presents and pull it back out if no good shot occurs.

Walk it up offence for 6-7 minutes is predictable as and allows teams to dial it up defensively. Refs swallow the whistle so you won’t get calls which allows very physical defence which is a nightmare when you can’t get the defence out of position.

Shotblockers alter more shots than just the ones they touch.

Brown's 8 ast and 1 turnover has to be an all time high A to T ratio.

BTW Play Tatum with the "Whites" and synchronize J Brown's and KP's minutes. JB + KP clearly are building good chemistry, while Tatum gets the great floor spacers with Hauser, PP + Horford.

True.

Cs good enough to win now, but good habits might come in 2024-25.

This Cs team still needs more seasoning.

I think JB got some "coaching" after that Hornets game.

He was making the right plays in this game.

Not his best game ever but his best “how Jaylen should play as the #2 guy” game

100%

If JB always plays like this then the Cs will be hard to beat on any given night.

White was decent with 6 TOs? I thought Horford was an excellent playmaker.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

This was not an ugly win, except maybe the last 4 mins

Finished the game late. VC goes to brown. One of my favorite JB games ever. If only he played like this half the time. His connection with Zinger is real. You love to see it.... What I don't love to see is us blowing huge leads on a consistent basis. It's starting to become a pattern. Fix that. Besides that, great win.

JB was great tonight. The 4th wasn't pretty but still a good win against a good team. Tatum looked gassed in the 4th but still attacked the rim when it was on the line, that's growth.

Need to find a balance. There's slowing it down to get a good shot and then there's playing not to lose trying to just hold on to the lead. The problem with wasting clock bringing up the ball and dribbling up top is Cs tend to fall back into pure iso or single PnR with not much time left to do anything else or go into a secondary action so we end up with a bad contested shot. While the other team runs the ball down our throats for an easy bucket or hits transition threes.

I would rather we run our usual sets using up only 16 seconds and still getting a great look than using up 22-24 seconds getting an okay shot with standaround offense.
