Hate me but it’s Suggs for me.

That tangle up with Jokic was an adrenaline shot to the team and crowd.

I was reading the game thread and I thought we lost by 10. Imagine my shock when I looked at ESPN and we won.

Another : why is there more than one-choice vest!

One player: 12-18 with 5-5 FT, on 30 points (Mr. I am GOAT: Jokić)
Another player: 11-18 with 4-4 FT, on 27 points: our vest Winner, F-Wagner

cummerbund for a player that in any other game wins a vest: Banchero

mittens: Mr perfection: Ingles (this could go to any of 4 bench players)

Lollypops to Isaac, M-Wagner, and Anthony.

I voted Franz but I think Cole wouldve been #2 for me.

Also I was always critical of the Magic crowd. But they stepped it up today, and a big part of that was Jalen Suggs. That play was huge even if the call was against us
Play Jase or Trade for Alvarado

Franz
Ingles
Cole

All three stepped up at crucial times when it was wobbling.

Amazing win. Great time to be a Magic fan. Who cares right now what the final year-end standings say. We're playing like a top team right now and that's enough for the time being.

Some 15 years ago we started a vest award for the best player. It was based on Jack Nelson (RIP).

Example of hundreds of photos:
Image

This was offset by a duncecap thread on losses.

A rule was made that the vest could only go to a player, but the duncecap could go to anyone or thing (often the coach "won" this, for example).

As the Magic started SUCKING after the Dwightmare, the duncecap thread was abolished after every loss (it was too depressing), and then the cummerbund was created as the second best player in those rare wins. Mostly so we could all be more positive.

Then, maybe three years ago, someone just added mittens. Just 'cus.

(( I am trying to add lollypops as I type this for "all other good players"; for example on where mittens came from ))

I have the same but man it's getting hard to pick 3 players in these "total team effort" style of wins, haha

Vest - Franz Wagner
He dug us out of the halftime hole, and made big plays and big shots time and time again. He is a 23+ PPG guy on good efficiency, and what's blowing my mind is that even on less-than-efficient nights I felt like we still needed him the exact way he played. I think he's the highest IQ guy on the team, knowing what to do and when to do it sometimes. My key moment with Franz tonight: We were in need of a shot in the arm yet again, Franz has the ball at the top of the key, teammates are spread out after a pick, and Michael Porter is left guarding Franz. What does Franz do? He uses his IQ and drives into the face of Porter, a lesser defender. Scores.

Cummerbund - Paolo Banchero
Monster night for a monster player. I'm still wanting him to score inside more, he squares towards the basket mid-air and doesn't take the 3 foot jumper, instead passing it. I'm honestly too harsh though. I really, really am. But I nitpick because Paolo is the franchise if he puts it all together and realizes he is LeBron James at 33 years old.

Mittens - Joe Ingles
I think our other biggest hole was dug out by Joe Ingles more than anyone else (2nd Quarter). He fed some of the passes to our bigs' points, shot perfect on the night, and was a vocal veteran. Played great all game. Cole almost got the nod but I think Joe deserved it a tiny bit more.

You guys are spot on with this.

Knowing how dominant we've been in the first half of games so far and how much the opposite we've been in the second half of games so far this year really had me looking forward to seeing how this team would respond in the second half as the team trailing on the scoreboard. They tied the third quarter and killed it in the fourth. Awesome team win

Franz was incredible in the third quarter and had just a fantastic second half all together. Glad to see him attacking and being relentless on offense again.

Paulo was Paulo. Best player on the team bringing the consistency again.

Old man Joe was exactly what we needed in the second quarter. He came in and showed the guys what we need to do. Move the basketball and look for the open man. That calming presence and poise and experience he brings to these guys is such a tremendous addition to this team. We're not the same team without him. He's gonna be a great coach someday.

I cast a sentimental vote for Joe Ingles. His steadiness put the team into position for their stars to win the game.

Thanks. I knew about vest guy of course. I always assumed cummerbund was 2nd best but thought "mittens" might be like, best defender (gloves), so seeing results sometimes got me confused...

It's funny that our best pg can't run nor jump and he's an Aussie. He's the PG we deserve and not the pg we need lol.
