LOL, all I've said this season was tht Jokic started slow, and he's not great at defense. Neither one of those are horrible things to say about him. You take these comments way too personally as well. If you consider the stuff I say to be stupid then don't respond to me.

started slow?

Yup, and it is even not randomly pulling something out of nowhere, compared to his 4:0 (26.5/12.3r/8.5) slow start at the very beginning, his scoring increased when the record was 9:1 (29.1/12.9r/8.0a) after the first 10 games.

Embiid can’t even get past the second round of the IST. More of a joking comment I was making.

Schedule was a bit light, now the real test for the team starts with games coming up against 76ers, Wolves, Lakers and Mavs all coming up.

He’s in the conversation all right. I feel like it’s:

(roughly ordered within tiers)

Tier I: Jokic
Tier II: Hali, Embiid, SGA, LeBron, Curry
Tier III: Luka, Mitchell, KD, Barnes
Tier IV: Giannis, Butler, AD, Chet, Edwards

Great Tiers/List!

Side note: Totally insane, btw, that we're talking about a guy about to turn 39, and, about to pass Kareem for most minutes played in NBA history, as an MVP candidate!!!

I'm still partial to Wilt, but....LeBron' case as GOAT in undeniable, even for his legion of haters and detractors.

I also no longer see a case for Jordan over him. And....Jordan was my hero growing up, too. Never thought anyone could ever match him, much less be better than him...

If the suns climb up to the top 3 or 2 of the conference and KD will continue to get these numbers he will have a case.
In fact we all know that Jokic is the undeniable best player in the league.
But Voters fatigue and he is not flashy and marketable.
He has been for 3+ years now.

It just seemed like Booker took over as the best player on the Suns and now it looks like KD is the best player on the Suns.

Jokic has 6 triple doubles already. The rest of the NBA has 7 triple doubles, COMBINED!

they are switching roles quite often. a big luxury to have two guys nearly at the same level.

I´m not the biggest KD fan, but you have to respect his ability to fit in with any other superstar.
He is basically the highest-usage, but at the same time lowest-usage player there is.

Yes, KD is an excellent glue guy. His game is perfect for any team.

There are like at least 5 better fits for the Nuggets than KD if we're talking about 1-season rentals this season, but for most other teams, it's hard to imagine more than a few guys fitting better than KD indeed. Kinda speaks volumes on clunkiness of half-court offenses in the NBA in general.

You’re the one who started making comments on how bad the Nuggets are without Murray. It’s hard to win in today’s NBA without your second guy. All these teams they played including Pelicans, Rockets and Magic are better teams compared to last year. The Nuggets are also the champions so they’re getting everyone’s best shot on top of that. It makes it a lot harder for them to win with these factors in play.

yup and like the Denver experts argued, it hurts when Jackson is taking his mins all Denver has to take Jackson's mins are rookies like Julian, Pickett and the raw Watson

the league is bonkers rn and the IST (which i hate btw) seems to be firing up some middling teams. that's especially true vs. the champions where everyone gives their best effort

The West in particular is just stacked with talent, this is an historically strong West

Jokic played phenomenally tonight and has been outstanding all season long. that bs ejection hurt his counting stats a bit but he's dominating the league and simply is a joy to watch

That’s a pretty good point I didn’t consider is the IST. Because its made games more important I think its has also helped motivate non contending teams.

unpopular opinion: Suns should load-manage KD more, now that Booker is back and they;ve improved their record from the early season hole, if Beal is really expected back in a couple of weeks then KD should take it a little easier. no need to sit-out games, stay in the flow but coach should cut his mins for sure, Suns would be fine and might even give the rest of the starters more reps to gain confidence and work out some kinks

Booker’s been just as good as KD in the games they’ve played together. He’s just been healthy less so far.

14-1 is the record when booker and kd playy together in regular season games.
it is just about health as it is for everyone.
i think beal was not the missing piece here.
they have enough scoring power a better 3 and D guy would have been awesome.

let's say mikal bridges :(

The fact that LBJ pops off as fringe candidate in so many of these metrics is downright astonishing
might have to give him an MVP if he can do it all season long

I mean having the 5th best impact as a 39 years old is just wild, that's gotta be more impressive then being the best in the league in your prime :)

Not to discredit his triple doubles but that's just his game, dude just walks into triple double. I watched last night game vs Orlando, he didn't play well, right from the start he played horrible defense, he simply got out of the way and let others to lay the ball in. Reggie's defense didn't help too putting Jokic at a tough spot but still, at least put your god damn hands up. And then on the other end he can score at will, the way Magic guarded him is laughable, he should score every time but he wasn't getting/demanding the ball, and the team as a whole wasn't executing down the stretch and this is suppose to be the most clutch offense in the league.

And then I looked at the box score he had a 30pts triple double shooting 12/16 or something stupid

He always start slow because he almost always come back a bit out of shape and out of rhythm. That's what not practising in the offseason do to you.

That's a good statline and all, but for a 2023-2024 MVP discussion it's really not much imho.

You could probably name 6-7 guys ahead of him easily.
