102.20 pace when he is on the court, 99.50 when he is on the bench - https://www.nba.com/stats/team/1610612753/onoffcourt-advanced?dir=D&sort=PACE

But if we look at first halves only, the difference is significantly higher, as I expected - 105.72 on, 100.38 off.

I am watching and I do know basketball, I just disagree with you.

As for Suggs: third best on the team, sixth best, whatever. We'll see what happens with him down the road.

Suggs has had an objectively horrendous NBA career. So yes, if we're going to be any good, we need our actual third-best player to be, say, Franz Wagner, because we've signed or traded for a star and are rolling out Banchero, Wagner, and [Star X]. If Suggs can carve himself out a niche role as a Tony Allen 20-mins-a-night defensive presence, more power to him and I hope the Magic keep him (cheaply). He still makes way too many boneheaded plays, though, so I dunno.

The Suggs love on this board can only be attributed to the "got that dog in him" crowd. Some peeps just can't get over that.

Suggs was horrible his rookie season playing 48 injury riddled games. Since then he has been fine for a 2nd/3rd year player. Every day he's proving that his rookie season was more of a fluke. His defense is still elite but i dont know what you're watching if you're still comparing him to Tony Allen and ignoring the offensive potential he flashes. Suggs has been our 4th best scorer this season. Lots of guys in their careers have had horrible rookie seasons and went on to develop into stars.

Fair enough, but I'd be shocked if Suggs develops into a star.

he doesnt have to be. He can still be a very high impact player. We'll see what happens, he's still like 4 years away from his peak.

Someone on the GB is hating on Suggs for flopping against Jokic. It's in the DPOY thread. It's kind of nice having a player that other fan bases hate.

I just love the intensity he plays with. Teams used to see Orlando on the schedule and circle it as an easy win, with the defense and especially how Suggs brings It all together, teams coming to play us better bring it, Suggs is coming after everyone at full intensity as long as he's on the court

I always thought his comp would be a likable Marcus Smart, but maybe he won’t have the likeable part among the rest of the league.

For an organization with the reputation of choir boys I’m all in on having players with toughness that get under opponents skin. I don’t want teams to walk into Orlando anymore comfortable with executing their game plan.

He is a the third best player but I feel like he is a connector piece rather than that piece that go gets you points. I view Suggs like what AG is for Denver, Smart was for Boston, Tony Allen was for Memphis, and Dillon Brooks is for Houston. I feel like he is a really good defender who may pop off for 20 here and there, and is the heart and soul of a team. But I don’t think he is a guy who will avg 20+ year in and year and a person people who will go get offense

Suggs is the not a finished product yet! His approach to the game is the main reason why I wanna see Magic games because you know he's gonna give you everything he has every single night! He definitely gets the crowd going with his passion! :)

I want him to work with Dwayne Wade this off season!

Suggs will always have defense.

It is in his DNA.

The trajectory of Suggs's career will come down to 2 things:

1. Health
2. FT attempts

Trajectory based on FTAs/Game

< 2: Bench player, spot starter
2-4: 6th man, capable starter
4-6: Top 3 player on a competitive (not just playin) playoff team
6-8: Borderline All-NBA player
8-10: All NBA player
>10: In MVP discussions

Threads like this one should be created come April, not after stringing few good games in November. Never the case, though.

I love this kid so much. I just worry he's never going to be a beacon of health given how hard he plays.

Don't really have an issue capping him at 20-25 MPG to maximize his chaos either.

That's the only real inhibitor. Hopefully availability improves overtime
