Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Crowder Out 8 Weeks
I just want us to get some really smart BBIQ players (because we don't have any). They don't need to be world-beaters in terms of their own numbers as long as they can make those around them better.
I wish we still had Ingles on this roster. Apart from being an amazing team guy, he just makes such smart plays, and he's always coaching on the court so everyone knows exactly what they need to be doing. He looked amazing yesterday against Denver.

But he has been solid for the most part. Crowder & MarJon are pretty easily our two worst players so far this year per Net Rating(I didn't realize how bad MarJon's DRTG was). I still have hope MarJon can develop but the Bucks desperately need a wing to step up(AJJ?), trade for one, or both.
Marjon's slightly negative net rating is more about the units he's played in and sample size than any poor play by him.
Also, Brooks net rating is significantly worse than Marjons.
Geez theres a shocker ...beas sucks though highest net rating n marjons net rating is bad cause of who he plays with wow
So net rating is the only factor in this argument?
Perfect! Beasley to the bench! AJJ is the new starter!

You can't really be saying AJJ isn't a smart player?
His BBIQ is off the charts good.
Khris Middleton is a really smart player too.

I’d also argue Dame is a smart player.
Dame/Dre/Midds/Crowder/Giannis is as smart of a lineup as they can put out there with Giannis.

AJJ looks good. Small sample size still, but it's definitely promising.
As for Midds, you have to take the dumb with the smart. For someone as smart as he is, he still doesn't realise that he should not dribble the ball as much as he does, and has stupid turnovers because of overhandling the ball every single game.

Middleton gets sloppy with the ball but that's not BBIQ. Until this year he's arguably been our best passer.

I don't think Khris is a dumb player but him being arguably our best passer prior to this season is moreso an indictment on how bad of guards we have had skill wise for literally 15+ years than it is a compliment towards his passing ability. He makes pretty basic reads.

I disagree. He should know there are certain scenarios where he needs to hand off, not keep handling it. He makes the wrong decision, and that creates the turnover. And it happens every game.
Like I said, you take the smart with the dumb with Midds, as he's a great passer etc, but he just overhandles the ball every single game which leads to turnovers, and that's not smart.

1-6-1 in 1st quarters against above. 500 teams. 76ers the only 1st quarter we won and imo the only good win this season. It's so easy for other teams to get a good start on us by just hunting 1 of the 3 terrible defenders were throwing out there.

And the funny thing is the Sixers were the only coherent defensive game plan the Bucks have had (outside of Brook making the team play drop) and it’s clear that was the leftover plan that the Raptors have used for years (double Embiid as soon as he makes his first dribble inside the arc).
Most other games the plan seems to legitimately be hoping Beas magically turns into Jrue Holiday/Eric Bledsoe defensively.

Start Dre or Marjon and give them the other teams best player, if he is cooking them put in the other one. If bbq chicken continues then by all means go all offense with Beas or Green or Cam.

Agree. AJJ and Marjon address some of the rebounding/athleticism that was missing in the past that is needed to fully optimize Giannis at center lineups.

id literally play him at the 5 defensively in small ball lineups.
if teams want to post him up then fine we take our medicine but you cant tell me hed be any worse than bobby guarding that. if anything id trust him defensively more so than bobby he can get in lower, hes smarter, hed punish teams worse if they tried to trade buckets that way.
there would be no place for opposing teams to "hide bigs" either. who do they guard?
besides that aspect wed be better in every single other aspect defensively. we wouldnt have to worry about ANYBODY pick and popping him or taking him off the dribble ever again either

Another fun combo for stretches of games: Dame/AJJ/Marjon/Jae/Giannis
Give me 5 minutes of that as a chaotic attacking defense

Read your first paragraph and immediately thought of Ingles. I can just see him prancing off that screen and finding Dame lovely looks and Giannis easy dunks

Ingles was unplayable in the playoffs and will be again this year. His skill set is extremely valuable but you have be able to move and defend at least a little bit or teams will play you off the floor. Khris could fulfill that role but you have to completely change his mindset from what he's been doing his entire career.

Midds was literally playing exactly like you are requesting against the Heat in the playoffs when they were running that PnR with him and Brook. He was cutting them up with passes to rolling Brook and hitting shots anytime they didn’t switch or show on the screen.
If they win game four or five, it would have been because of that action.

Brook
Giannis
Jae
AJJ
Dame
Would be my starting 5.
Giannis
Jae
Midd
Dame and whomever is feeling it among Pat, AJJ and Beau would be my closing lineup.
When khris (knock on wood) is ramped up enough, I'd try to stagger it to where 2 of Giannis, Dame, Khris are on the floor at the same time at all times.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Crowder Out 8 Weeks
Would you guys sacrifice Brook and Pat to upgrade the starting SG from Beasley to LaVine?
Brook, Pat and RoLo work to make a legal trade. Obviously Chicago gets that POR 2024 SRP as a sweetener in that scenario and ships Brook and Pat in the same deal for more assets.
Lillard….……..Payne
LaVine…...…..Beasley……….Green
Beauchamp….Jackson…..….Thanasis
Middleton…….Crowder………Livingston
Giannis………..Portis
I get it that losing Brook and adding LaVine in a bad defensive team will not look the best idea. But hear me out.
LaVine has all the physical tools to be a much better defender than Beasley. I guess he will be interested in that playing for the first time in his career for a contender. At least you have nothing to lose and get better offensively.
Griffin has no clue how to use Brook or desire to play basketball that fits his strengths. If no Brook means more wings with length (MarJon, AJJ) that will defend anything I can tell that this is something that could work for him.
Obviously Giannis should be on board starting and finishing games at C. I would love to see that since it would mean going full Dame setting the tone early and finishing the games. That’s a side reason I’m on board using Brook for some other upgrade.
