On the bright side of this, it exposed a weakness that Brad must address before the playoffs start.

Celts need another big.

Kornet is fine as a gimmick, but asking him to take over for KP just won't work.

Really reminds me of the 08 Celtics for sure.

are we blaming korny too? he was dang near our best big tonight. so that wasn't al with a -26? kornet did about as good as you'd expect out of a 3rd center who is dnp or unimportant mins half the games.

He definitely was, that's box score watching. He had absolutely no interest in the game until the last 6 mins when were down double digits. 5 boards is a season low too, on a night we needed help on the glass

If Jaylen Brown doesn't miss layups or take bad shots in transition, the game is still within one or two possessions. It was a 10 point game with 3'30 left or so when Tatum made a layup. That was following something like 5 straight failed offensive possessions highlighted by Jaylen Brown pulling up from the three that everyone knew he was going to miss.

You're fitting things into your narrative. Jaylen played like dogsh*t but Tatum wasn't far behind

PierceFan4ever wrote:I think the Tatum getting subbed 5 minutes into the game has to go. I get it you want Tatum to run with the second unit but I feel like his subbing early is not doing him favors right now. Still would like him running the show with the 2nd unit but there needs to be a workaround with the substitution. Often times you’ll see Tatum 2 or 4 points on less than 3 shots in the first and then he’ll try doing the most in the second with some mixed results. If he’s still struggling by the second quarter then he’ll be in for a long night.

Nah then you are doing the same thing to Jaylen Brown and on top of that having him run the second unit. You have to sit one of them and it's clearly Tatum who's the best candidate for that role.

Zinger hurt already? Ugh...

Tatum and Brown playing whiny, entitled ball.

This stuff wouldn't bother me if it didn't keep coming up over and over despite roster and coaching changes. Our "stars" are not fun to watch, they are so damn selfish more often than not. They think they've won something and have had this attitude for years.

Joe is also utterly useless.

This is why you’re the most disliked member on this board. Quiet as a mouse when their playing well & then decide to flood the board when they’re not great.

Must be a pretty miserable life to get a kick out of watching the players you don’t like on the team having a bad game hey ?

I don't think we're blaming Kornet, just facing facts that he's not an answer if someone is needed for more than spot minutes.

He simply is not the answer on the boards or at the rim on D. We're asking him to do something he's not capable of, he's a finesse player at 7'2"

Not all teams have the personnel for it.

You are right, but unfortunately the blueprint is still out there for every other team to see.

This was an ugly loss but I don't care so much about the loss column (we'll have a very good record regardless) and I even think it could be a good thing.

How? Well this one loss was very revealing and the sooner the team learns this the better. Circumstances matter of course, but the team showed a clear inability to adapt and most of all it clearly showed our lack of leadership.

Oh yeah like hell it did. The team got exposed for its lack of leadership and this can't be stressed enough because it's extremely important in the long run. Tell me who's the Celtics vocal leader? No one? Horford maybe? The team got rid of the ones we had (Smart and Grant) but now someone has to do it. Most of our guys are timid personalities.

Neither Jayson, Jaylen nor Joe have proved to be the leader we need in games like this.

Today's debacle is a big revelation of the attitude problem that has been lingering with us for years. Of course the top teams won't win every game but you've got to at least show some fight and pride. The Celtics today showed none of that.

When we got down in the 3rd quarter there was no reaction until the end whatsoever. None at all in like 15 minutes of game time. No picks, no cuts, lazy passing and individual offense. It was frankly shameful to watch. They know better, they were just not set up to do it.

Joe's lack of resourcefulness was exposed again today. He had no counter. Players didn't believe in him even if he tried (that I don't know). No player stepped up, no one talked to each other. Really don't you see that Joe? Brad? It's worrysome.

The 4th quarter's spectacle was pathetic. It would be very rare to see this in Europe on a professional level. Hell even high-school teams are taught to counter with pride, even if they're losing by 20. I'm not kidding or exaggerating if you're familiar with European basketball. Regular season being a washed up product and all that you want, but come the fck on, show some attitude.

Either this changes or this team won't win a championship. It's not supposed to be easy. All teams need leaders, vocal leaders and energy guys, we got none of that today. Hope it changes.

End of rant. Go Cs.

PS: Btw, awesome thread title Bisme

I like the fire shown by wagner but I wish we could have doused it. both of them get their guys hype. we could have used a lil of that energy this afternoon.

also, nba can go to hell for an early game for us! we don't get the blood flowing this early, it screws our routines!

JB 6-22? Did he finish that game shooting like 1-15 or some **** after a hot start? Nothing worse than watching him continue to chuck when he’s struggling. Some plays he’ll dribble run up to the three and fire away barely hitting the rim or other plays no ball movement just chucking a bricked three….i guess it is true the only reason he was passing so well last game because he was scoring efficiently. Even today, he started the game passing well early because he hit some shots but once he starts bricking, he forgets everything and becomes a relentless chucker trying to see the ball go in. It’s hard to watch. Feels like it was never this bad before but he’s taking this season to another level.
