Re: Coaches
Ron Rivera done.
He may not get another HC job but he should have made enough money by now to walk away if he doesn't want to start again as a coordinator or assistant.

Re: Coaches
Down goes Reich. Honestly not the biggest fan of Reich, but I thought he was in a no win scenario this year. From the sounds of it, he wanted CJ over Bryce and was stuck with a young QB he didnt want and a team that just severely lacked talent all across the board.

Re: Coaches
Man if Tepper really forced the team to pick Young over Stroud in the draft ...
New Daniel Snyder?
Supposedly was a former minority owner of the Steelers before buying the Panthers.
Tepper and his wife supposedly walked out of the locker room after the team's latest loss and he mutter ****! for others to hear.

Re: Coaches
Not sure how this is Reichs' fault. He was given a pantry of table salt and black pepper. And asked to make a 3 course meal with it
Praying for Burrow

As much as I want to clown on him and the Panthers, I think people are misreading the quote
He's saying they had Bryce #1 the whole time, but didn't think they'd be able to get him, so they were gonna take Stroud in a 3-way trade they had lined up, with the Texans moving up to #1
They thought the Texans were taking Bryce #1, then the deal fell through so they took their chance to move up to #1 for a guy they thought wasn't gonna be available at #2.

And Shad legitimately waits too long to fire coaches. Gus Bradley got 62 games before he was fired with a record of 14-48. Only Bert Bell, Hue Jackson, and Steve Spagnuolo have worse records of all NFL coaches to last more than 20 games
And then, the guy we replaced him with, Doug Marrone, got 66 games despite only going 23-43. To be fair, we did have that one year we almost made the Superbowl in there, but still
The Jags have only had 7 non-interim coaches in their history (and only 3 interim coaches, though Marrone did get the job the next season). Doug Pederson has 39 more games to coach before passing Bradley and Marrone, and he's already passed Bradley in wins and is only 6 behind Marrone.

I really think what probably happened is reich wanted cj stroud in the draft but other guys including tepper wanted Bryce young. Reich probably reminded tepper a few too many times about who he wanted (aka the right guy) and tepper was just like “gtfo….”

Would Stroud be putting up the same numbers with the Panthers?

No chance
Where you’re drafted matters. Strouds success is as much demeco Ryan’s and his staff as it is stroud
It’s a mix of strouds talent and the coaching staffs proper development

Yeah Reich was a 6'4 220 qb, there is no way he would prefer a pick who is built like a middle school qb.

Re: Coaches
Tepper is ruining the Panthers. He and the scouts along with the GM Fitt forced Bryce onto these guys. The plan was to trade up and draft Stroud when Frank was hired. Somewhere along the line ( like the week before the pick was made) Tepper and his Wife decide they want Young.
From that point on Frank began mailing it in, he changed nothing in his offense that he already began building for Stroud. '
Tepper meddles and meddles and also allows his wife to meddle. There are credible reports out of Tepper even meddling in play calling. He watched Cleveland run a play early in the week one year and went to the OC and hands him the play and tells him he wants to see the play run on Sunday.
Until he steps back and swallows his pride the Panthers will be bottom feeders.
I never wanted either of these guys I wanted a combo of Streichen/Johnson and Stroud.
Young is too small, has a weak arm and is not overly fast or agile, I dont see him ever working out.

Re: Coaches
Forget who but someone said they talked to Harbaugh a couple of months ago about the young QBs in the NFL and he raved about Herbert above his peers -- in the same age range -- than any other one.
So if the Chargers do decide to move on from Staley, they'd have a good chance to get Harbaugh if they wanted.
Of course he probably wants to leave because Michigan may be coming for some NCAA penalties.

Re: Coaches
Trying to figure out best spots for him to land, though of course I have no idea if he wants to retire or take a break, what role he wants/demands, etc. Seattle seems not bad, though maybe they’ll be looking for someone a lot younger. Commanders? Don’t think San Diego. Don’t think he’d fit in with Raider culture. Carolina? Anyone think a college job appeals to him at all?
Second question: if his job is not a real success, how much does his rep/legacy suffer?

About a week ago I read that if Belichick were fired that he would stop want to coach but would not want to rebuild a team. He would be more interested in a team with an established QB and doesn’t need to be completely rebuilt. To me that sounds like the Chargers. As far as best fit though I could see him going to the Giants. Would the Giants be willing to part with Daboll though for Belichick?
