Anyone who followed him in college, has his shot mechanics changed? His **** never looks like its going in even the rotation on the ball seems wrong

It looks the same to me but Sam Dekker tweeted that we’ve changed his shot.

I still think it's mental, but that wouldn't surprise me considering how bad he's been. Shooters don't often forget how to shoot this badly. Somebody should do a video comparison.

Adam Morrison was a top 3 pick who had serious injuries (ACL tear) and had a completely different style of game, so I'm not sure how the comparison even works?

They changed his shooting form and I don't know why. He had a nice quick stroke in college. He had a slight slingshot motion, but it wasn't too bad. Desmond Bane also has that same slingshot and he's one of the better shooters in the league.

Maybe this pays off in the future, but this is concerning

Typically guys can create for others, defend, rebound, attack the rim and get to the free throw line, anything else if their shot isnt falling.

Gradey is a one trick pony who cant pull of his one trick.

Analysis

Shot change

Read on Twitter

Obvious changes - no dip before, looks like he's using two fingers on release instead of one (hard to tell), given the NBA 3 pt line is further out it might be necessary to change his shooting to increase his range, his hand action is different. If they're going to change it, now is the time. Probably have to give him a few games to work it out. RH Jr. should play up here while Dick gets some run in 905. He's a confident guy, doubt he will lose any confidence.

It feels like they want to make his stroke more Klay like.

We altered SB’s shooting form since his rookie year. We finally seeing the results this year. Hope it wouldn’t take that long for Gradey.

Hawkins is like a year and a half older than Gradey. Just because they were both drafted as freshman doesn't mean that they're at the same stage of development.

not worried about 1-for-12, Gradey is probably feeling like the worst player on earth right now and that's basketball for you...it will pass, he will adapt...He will be fine, that Sixers game showed us a glimpse of what he could provide and more.. I wish we had picked Hawkins just because of his shooting style, not necessarily because of the 'final version' of the player. Hang in there Gradey, it is going to be okay

LoL we used to say this stuff about bargnani

Except Bargnani was significantly better as a rookie.

Sam Dekker was saying Dick changed his shooting form.

It does look like it changed. Less straight up. The raptors should not be trying to teach anyone to shoot

Is there another prospect archetype more likely to bust than the 'White college shooter"?

So his form has changed and I also feel there’s a mental hurdle of shooting over nba sized defenders.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

This isn't Lonzo ball though. This dude was a shooter coming out of college. That was his nba skill. It's alarming how much he's steugglkmg with that one skill.
