Y'all acting like even if the Knicks don't get a star in return, Frank is gonna be Randle's replacement putting up all 0's for stat lines.

The random PF in his place can get us 10 pts and 6 reb per game.

So we gotta find a way to get 10 more points and 4 more boards out of the starting lineup?

Move Quick to the starting lineup with 35 mins per game, he blossoms into an All-Star and gets you 2 more boards and 5 more points than his current average.

RJ will get you 1 more board and 2 more points than his current average.

Mitch will get you at least 2 more boards than his current average.

Brunson will get you 3 more points than his current average.

Grimes gets the green light to bomb away off the bench... Donte's shot attempts also going up.

Useful Pieces will be coming back in the Randle trade..together, They cover Quickley's bench production.

Bye Randle

Randle for Jerami Grant….they free up some years and Randle has shown he can lead a team to the playoffs , we get a player who plays defense and doesn’t have a horrid attitude

But would the Blazers want that right now? I think they would want a higher lottery pick. And Randle only leads a team to the playoffs every other year.

He might actually play better there though. Less pressure to perform there than in New York so he might have more success.

Cleveland fans already starting to turn on Mitchell.

The problem is you need stars like Mitchell in the playoffs when you really need a bucket under pressure. None of those Cavs players are gonna step up. Garland certainly didn't last year but we will see.

Cleveland has to also realize that probably Donovan Mitchell never wanted to be in Cleveland. Sure he is playing hard but it doesn't seem like he's really into what they're trying to build out there. It is really time to trade him and just build a team like they were doing before the trade with the Jazz.

If we trade randle we'd have to send out 2nd rounders. I'll keep him here at that price

Randle is having 23/9/5 on 45/31/73 in the last 10 games. It's ok numbers. If we trade him now for peanuts, the team would get worse.

But if we get another star offensive player like Donovan or PG13, Randle would not be crucial for the team anymore, and we should get rid of him in any way possible.

Exactly. You wouldn’t notice an impact on the court with him.

From the T&T forum

Sixers trade: Morris, 24 PHI 2nd, 27 PHI 2nd
Sixers get: Trent Jr

Knicks trade: Fournier/27 NYK 2nd
Knicks get: Morris

Raptors trade: Trent Jr
Raptors get: Fournier/24 PHI 2nd/27 PHI 2nd/27 NYK 2nd

Philly turns the seldom used Morris and a couple 2nds into a bench shooter around Embiid/Maxey

Knicks turn the not used Fournier and one 2nd into the backup PF their fans keep mentioning as their only need(outside a star of course).

Raptors get 3 2nds out of Trent and I think there is a chance Fournier could replace a chunk of what Trent brings, but they are clearly more about seasons after this one. Especially if one or more of the expiring forwards get dealt.

NYK Trades: Julius Randle
NOH Trades: Gordon Hayward, Late Protected 1st

Then in the off-season we maneuver to have enough cap to make OG a free agent deal starting at $28m per and then we re-up IQ and make him a starter.

Mitch / OG / RJ / IQ / Brunson.... that's a squad I can root for. Hard hat NY type team.

Right now he is shooting his career-worst. Still coming back from injury, so that should tick up a bit. I think he is an effective back-up at this point, but mainly he would be there to be a tall body when Randle gets his 4th offensive foul in the 3rd quarter and we need both spacing and size. He is also a plus passer.

All I see from that is that he would fit in perfectly since no one on our team plays well off the ball.

Donovan Mitchell 2023, 43% FG, 29% from 3, 72% from the line
Donovan Mitchell 2022, 39.8% FG, 20.8% from 3, 88% from the line

Let's not talk out of our ass. You talked smack about Garland and he had a much better playoffs than Mitchell. Just give the ball to Brunson if this is what we can expect. Guess Mitchell didn't want to play in Utah either, against a Mavs team that was pretty crap.

How exactly do we get Grant?
He's making 30 million.

We gave a bum like Hart a 4 year deal making more than Mitch - who wants that Contract?
Plus, Portlands gonna want pics.
We have to try for guys like Isaiah Stewart, Isaac, Patrick Williams.
We have to somehow get a player better than Brunson and then a defensive wing.

I actually think getting Grant is much easier than getting an OG for example. Portland is clearly headed the rebuild route and Grant does not fit their timeline. They have Scoot, Ayton, Sharpe, Simons who are all 20-24 years old while Grant just turned 29. I'm positive they would consider cashing in some assets for Grant. In terms of trade: Something like Fournier + 2 FRPs + filler would work capwise...Grant makes 27million while Fournier makes 19mill. You only need a 3-4 million filler. Definitely possible. Or something like Fournier + Grimes + 1 FRP.

I like the idea because Grant would enable us to play so many different line-ups and throw so many different looks at opposing teams. Add to that that he has played both the 3 and 4 a lot in his career and he has played as a first, second, third and fourth option in different situations. He can create off the dribble but can also play off ball and is a good character guy. On top of that he likely wouldn't cose multiple assets while putting us in a much better position to compete with Boston, Miami, Milwaukee. Imagine a long defender like Grant on Tatum or Butler or Middleton instead of RJ. In the frontcourt you could go:

I agree with all of this and someone on the general board added in orlando.
The meat of the deal would be:
KNicks out - IQ & Frenchy + pics
Knicks get Grant

Portland out - Grant
Portland in - Frenchy + pics

Orlando out - pics
Oralndo in - IQ

Although I do like Gordon his price tag should be lot lower than that. I'll talking like Fournier and some 2nd rounders.
