Re: PG Blazers - Win
I'm having fun. What would happen if you gave Giannis a superstar talent at guard but removed coaching wasn't a thought experiment I'd ever pondered but now that we're here it's pretty interesting.

team aside from Giannis was hungover in the first half (were allegedly at a club for Beasley's b-day)

griffin called some good timeouts to kill runs and won both challenges, but the deficit and comeback were both more on the players than any coaching changes
So another reason to cut Beasley?
yeah lets cut the guy on a minimum scoring 11ppg on 70% ts

Funny acting like 11 ppg in a starting, big minutes role is some sort of accomplishment, while ignoring the player is a terrible defender who can't handle the ball or pass.

If the Bucks win 60 games and make it to the NBA Finals, there will be a contingent on this board who will give Griffin zero credit and say all of the Buck's success was in spite of Griffin.
And it will be from the same people who are still obsessed with Bud after the Bucks lost 4-1 to a #9 seed.
If that ain't rich I don't know what is.
That #9 seed did knock 3 other teams besides the Bucks out of the playoffs, including Boston. I think they deserve a little more respect put on their name.

Based on the last three games, might be early for Rilaman to take a victory lap on firing Bud.
That said, seems clear Giannis wanted a new voice in the locker-room. But the odds were always great that we'd go backward with a new hire.

Instead of 9th seed, I think he meant Finals runner-up.

It worked out in the end. Worked out better than Middleton so far, of the $30 million a year contract who can’t play more than 20 mins a game.
What has worked about it? Beasley has been a massive negative.
nah.. beasley is one of the few bright spots. as has become his norm another best on/off on the squad tonight.
the way its turned out even perhaps our most consistent perimeter defender if you can believe it
obviously his offense has been great and even better than expected

I think getting rid of Bud always depended on who they were going to hire instead. I was OK with Nick Nurse or even Frank Vogel, but a rookie HC for a team that is championship or bust never made sense to me.

You're seriously high.
Edit: Nevermind, you're the guy who tried to convince everyone Grayson Allen was a key player too. I won't even waste my time.

Would be interested in seeing how Bud would handle the Giannis/Dame dynamic. Record wise we'd be very similar but the team would have more of an idea of what they're doing defensively even if they'd still probably be no better than average on that end because of personnel.

The game worked out and for a minimum contract Beasley has been ok. You can’t expect a two way guy for the min.

Re: PG Blazers - Win
A lot of strange takes in here, complimenting this team or certain players for mounting comebacks and coming through in the clinch.
Just note that these are the same players that put us in the hole in the first place (looking at you Bobby - and coach Grief obviously). I'm not crediting guys that put us down by 25, and then somehow manage to scrap our way out of it again. They're just cleaning up their own mess. We should never be in that hole in the first place, and Boston showed that it won't work against the good teams.
It seems to be the case so far that a chaotic but hugely talented system-less offense of individuals (including 3 guys who are all franchise leaders in points), is somehow overcoming an embarrassment of a defense that seems to be getting worse.
This needs to change.

This. Horst really showed how little he is willing to rock the boat with Giannis. He had to hire someone of Bud's caliber who could bring fresh ideas, like Nurse or Atkinson. Instead, he caved and thought he could bridge the coaching quality gap by forcing a Griff/Stotts marriage. Crash and burn.
Fun comeback, but this is not looking great.

Re: PG Blazers - Win
This game actually gave me some confidence about the defense. That was a hard-nosed, active defensive effort in the 4th quarter that shows they have it in them if they are put in a position to take advantage of that effort.

I dislike players with bad attitudes who can't defend or pass. That's Beasley all day. The team almost lost today because Beasley thought it was important for a grown man to have a birthday party, at a club.
Sucks Giannis has to carry clowns like him.
