The beauty of Black in this starting lineup is that he isn’t really making empty possessions on offense. His role is pretty clearly defined.

Now, if he was able to develop a reliable 3-point shot, this starting lineup would be insane. His length combined with Suggs bothers the hell out of teams back courts. When teams double, or even triple, Paolo it would behoove us to have more shooters that can cut to the rim.

If Black can develop into a 38-40% 3PT shooter on the catch and shoot and will always fire when he's open, he will never come out of the starting lineup.

As his shot develops, he can embrace being Lonzo Ball 2.0 (with healthy knees) as a connector who can thrive as spot shooter, cutter, secondary playmaker and plus defender in-between two high usage guys who handle the ball a lot.

I am not stressing too terribly much about the lack of defense last night.

Charlotte plays a bit of a goofy windshield wiper kind of run and gun pace and is No. 1 in the NBA in points in the paint.

The Magic played them at their own style and still beat them handily. Sometimes you end up having to adapt to your opponent and handle them anyway and I thought that was pretty impressive all things considered.

That’s how I feel. There was no need to clamp down like we can, we were still in a comfortable position.

Mose explained it post game. They were playing small and had to start shooting threes to get back into it, so he wanted to match it with switchable players of similar size instead of having slower, exploitable bigs.
