The same was true in 2018 and this past offseason. We did in 2018. If AG is a flop, it's malpractice, and that's the swing they took with a mature roster and an aging core. We can't afford to burn years like that.

Woof. Hate to punt on this year. Next year Dame will be 34, Middleton 34, Brook 36!, Giannis 29-30. Not sure we would be the top destination. That's why AG looking baddd hurts so much. This year is important.

What're the chances we're already talking to Mike D'Antoni?

If he were to come aboard as an Associate Head Coach or just a lowly assistant he could like his chances of Griffin not being long for Milwaukee. Or maybe the combo works.

Just now seeing Pringles was a finalist in Portland before they hired Chauncey.

Was surprised when his name never came up during the interview process this off-season. Would be a great hire.

He's 72, I don't think he wants to be an assistant again. He's an "advisor" in New Orleans. It's been 3+ years since he left Houston and I haven't really seen his name mentioned anywhere for a couple of years. He's probably done coaching. I always liked him though.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

no one is punting on this year, i'm just going off of the assumption that the coaching situation is a disaster. because it is. it's not just AG, it's that we do not have a top of the line staff to assist him. hiring Griff seems to have allowed us, in part, to extend Giannis, so that's a win. But if we dont win it all we need to get serious about this.

How much do we think Brooklyn paid D’Antoni to be an assistant to Nash?

Money certainly could be a factor if the Bucks were serious if not desperate.

D’Antoni could also be enticed about turning Dame and Giannis into Nash and a freaky Amare / Marion hybrid.

Of course the Bucks could fire Grief and make Pringles the head coach out of the gate too if it’s even worse behind the scenes than what we’ve seen.

Riffing off of this, some have complimented Griff for our players talking out problems during timeouts. While that certainly could be a positive culture thing, it could just as easily be a thing where the veteran players think Griff is a dolt for putting them in the positions they're in and they've taken it upon themselves to solve the issues out of a lack of trust that they had in Bud until they didn't.

Hypothetically, would you trade Khris, Bobby and Marjon for LeBron?

I just dropped by to see if twirl has read Lori Nickel's latest in the JS. Mike Royko, she is not.

(there's a Mike Hunt joke in there somewhere but I'm not taking it.)

This Jordan Poole clip is hilarious. (Sorry it's on Threads. I'm not doing Twitter until, well, you know until when.)

Yes. LeBron would be the coach on the court and would have AG instantly fired if need be.

I’d do that even if you LeBron is leaving after this season. Dame/LeBron/Giannis easily wins the title this season. Even if there is no head coach.

I’m of the opinion the players are running the team. We know Brook asked to play drop. We know Dame asked to play the full first quarter. We know Dame said he wanted to run PnR with Brook more. We know Brook has previously said he wanted to be used more in the lane on offense.

The only things AG installed was the dumb overly aggressive D that some guys are still playing because they like it and the zone. Everything else is the players.

This is why they should trade for a Tucker type defensive dog like Caruso or Thy. That person can help coach the D because AG is just a yes man. He’s that guy in The Wire who Freamon hand picked to supervise the Major Case Unit but really he is just there to rubber stamp everything.

Kerr and Steph dragging Poole to an NBA championship and fooling people into believing he's a winning basketball player might be one of the most impressive feats in NBA history.

Poole that season was pre contract, fresh off of the g league roster, and pre getting smashed in the head by his teammate. i dont think they were dealing with the same nut job that you see now.

Kind of fooled themselves though by giving him that contract.

Created another large salary slot. No such thing as bad contracts once you’re locked above the tax.
