Fields still went at 0.722 completions for 217 yards and 64 rushing yards. The 2 fumbles were poor but he more or less did what he had to do with the terrible play calling and made a game winning drive.

Is there such a thing as the "anti prevent" defense?

That's not franchise quarterback stuff.

Fields didn't look great but the defense did. We can still draft a franchise QB and another impact player.

Fields haters will not give him credit for the good things he does, only focus on the bad. They just have fantasies of getting the next great “franchise qb”.

Takes a lot of luck, i hope we have or get just a good qb.

Please tell me someone else noticed the incredibly stupid timeout Eberflus called at 2:36...Running off the sideline like a maniac like he did something.

I said to myself, great now they will punt and we'll run exactly one play and then let the clock run down to 2 mins anyway.

That lame win basically kills the franchise QB + MHJ dream.

I'd love to play spoiler and win games against Det/GB (and I guess Atl?). But would still be nice to lose to Arizona :D

Argh the ability to get MHJ after we inevitably take the wrong QB 1st was what kept my optimism afloat during all this

The give-up-a-TD defense? I think that's what the Bears usually play end of game. They put in a crafty disguise pre-snap though to make it look like prevent d.

It really was the win nobody wanted, because the only way a win is acceptable right now was if Fields balled out and put away the questions. Since he didn't, the loss only hurts the cause. I can see the Bears finishing around pick 5-8 right now. It's good, but you lose a shot at MHJ, because now we cant'take him with the Panthers pick. Good to see the defense can build on this season however.

Coleman will still be able to make a quality #2 receiver. Then resign Mooney, and they will have a very good wide receiver room. But I think edge rusher becomes the pick now
