Most 7;3 guys get blown by trying to guard short fast guards. He does recover pretty quickly to rim protect though. I have said from the day we signed him, Queta needs to be the 15th roster spot, so he will be available during the playoffs also. Porzingis, Horford, Kornet and Queta all bring something different to the 5 spot and make a VERY deep big man lineup.

Now we just need Stevens or Brissett to take over and own the backup 4 spot behind Tatum, so we don't have to play Horford at the 4 unless we want to play two big men.

If it was only short fast guards that blow by him it would be one thing. Everyone goes by him like he's not there.

That’s not accurate though. Statically he’s been really good in space, so far at least.

My eyes tell me different. What statistics show he's been really good in space? And do they take into account the Boston wings that have to slide over to help out?

KillahGhostface wrote:It’s a tiny sample, but if we’re talking about so far this season, Porzingis has been statistically elite defending isolation. Has allowed 0.85PPP in those situations.

Of course guards will beat him off the dribble, dude is 7’3 lol.

He also allows just under 1 PPP when defending the ball handler in PnR, which for a guy his size, is awesome. No it doesn’t take the help into account, but it never does for anyone.

He’s been WAY better in space than I expected, so I was surprised to see someone say otherwise.

Tatum led the way and JB, Horford and White were all big. Plus nice minutes from Queta off the bench and Sam Hauser is a filthy sniper lol.

Y'know, I think JB is worth his contract just for his dunks. That's how much I enjoy them.

Typical JB Hype Machine response. I “reached” for the press conference because someone posted a quote from it.

I wanted to hear his response in context. JB on a campaign to “prove” he is a “playmaker” has a real impact on the success of our TEAM.

I’ve listened to post game conferences for years from every coach we’ve had AND other players on the TEAM. The same way I enjoyed Queta’s interview.

JB focusing on the name on the back of the jersey has been a REAL issue for years. It’s right in front of our faces on the court AND his words.

DENIAL is a heck of a drug the Hype Machine prescribes to.

Who cares what he says on interviews. At least we have him on record saying all those nice things about him, and all those he thinks he’s working on to improve. Heck, he can even say he wants to be the GOAT for all i care lol. No one here is hyping JB. Its actually the opposite.

Lol. Everyone gets blown by on D by fast guards. Even D white and Jrue. Just the other game, Lillard blew past by White several times for layups. and that’s one of the best in the league at D. What more for 7’3 dude. At least he bothers shots inside, and impacts a lot on offense. We play a lot better on both ends if he plays.
