JT seems to care about the tournament considering he's taken time to learn and form opinions on the format and scenarios for advancing. The players are actually pretty invested in the whole thing as far as I can tell.

The “respecting your opponent” **** has always been weak, tournament or not. There’s no running up the score if you’re playing defense the way you should

Funnily enough, this is around the same time last year that the Bulls ended our 9-game winning streak. We were also 13-4 at that point in the season.

I think it was actually on his mind because the team has been talking about how they need to beat the Bulls by a million points tonight and he finds the idea of having to run up the score in garbage time to be distasteful.
