Nikola Vučević
Peja Stojaković
Kiki Vandeweghe
Steve Kerr

What do these four guys have in common (other than they are all white)?

Hint 1: Not basketball related.
Hint 2: With Peja you could argue whether he belongs on that list.

They were not born in their home country, except for Peja I guess. Could have used Tony Parker instead, he's french-american born in Belgium.

Correct answer. The reason I used Peja and mentioned that you could argue about him, is that he's Serbian but was born in what is now Croatia. However, when he was born it was Yugoslavia, so it's not as clear as with the others.

I wasn't aware that Parker was born in Belgium.

Could include a certain Turk born in Switzerland, American born in Australia, and Canadian born in South Africa, eh?

I guess we can add the question(s): Who am I referring to?

Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

You have to guess an NBA player that played for each team that shares a box in the grid. You can play previous days too. I literally just discovered this while trying to research a trivia question I was pursuing.

There are a number of these games, they're a lot of fun, and I play them every day - unless there are too many 21st century questions. Apparently, I managed the highest score on today's Crossover Grid:

American/Australian is Kyrie. Canadian/South Africa is Steve Nash I think? Not sure about the first one.

Correct and correct!

Further, when I looked it up to confirm, I learn that Nash's parents were actually from the UK, so he was born a British citizen as well.

What player drafted by the Atlanta Hawks made the Hall of Fame (as a player) despite having a 0.0% Hall of Fame Probability according to basketball-reference. Apologies in advance if more than one player somehow meets this criteria.

Hmm, has to be one of the very early (50s) Hawks players. Some guys got in for winning titles despite never making an All-Star Game. But the only guys from that era that come to mind are Bob Pettit, Cliff Hagan and Lenny Wilkens, and all of them certainly have a very high HOF probability (Pettit 100% I would guess). Without looking up the rosters I have no idea.

I didn't look it up, but I read through the Top 100 Project on the Player Comparison board and I think I stumbled upon the answer there.

Does the player have more in common with Larry Bird than just the same season?

Indeed. :)

And by the way:

1. While I'm not sure, I think that may have been the only 60-80 season ever.
2. We might not see more for a while. Guys good enough at shooting to hit 80% on FTs are also likely to take a bunch of 3s, stressing their FG%.
3. Timelord had a 70-70 season. That's probably unusual too, just because 70% on FGs is.

Okay, then it has to be McHale.

Completely insane to have a 50/40/90 player and a 60/80 player in the same frontcourt.

And yet they lost the Finals that season. The 80s had two amazing superteams.

Of course, we later learned McHale played the 1987 postseason on a broken foot.

Which perceived leader of the team was the only player to choke away 3-1 finals lead.
Pennebaker wrote:And Bird did it while being a defensive liability. But he also made All-Defensive teams, which was another controversial issue regarding Bird and votes.
