I'm fine with trading Bobby but I also wouldn't want my backup big to be Wenyen Gabriel.

Just listened to Burke and Lowe (politely) kill the Bucks coaching for 10 minutes. Maaaaaaan.

Montrezl Harrell could score some points and grab some rebounds. Former sixth man of the year. Free agent.

John Collins was also making $25 million a year.

Probably a good indication that you shouldn't overrate "points and rebounds".

Yep, scoring and rebounding are overrated. :D

By the way, John Collins was the 46th best rebounder last year. Portis was 13th. Collins is an ok rebounder. Portis is near elite, given his minutes.

Career 10/36 rebound guy. Bobby 11. Ok. Near elite. :dontknow:

Cool "points!" stat for Bobby:

Second only to Jokic in post up frequency.

.94 PPP. 36th percentile.

The last two years (not counting this year), Bobby has been 13th and 16th in the league and Collins was 46 last year and not in the top 50 the prior year. The year before that (20-21) Collins was 24th and Bobby was 33rd, yet Collins played 10 more minutes per game.

I think going back the last three years makes my point. Bobby is a far superior rebounder to Collins. There aren't many rebounders like him. I would much rather have Bobby than John Collins, for a variety of reasons.

Sounds like you like going back a year when its good for your argument and not staying current when Bobby is at like 39th in the rebound ranking making him, oh no, only ok.

Portis hovers awfully close to that breakeven line but is a functioning big on a team lacking big depth. If he truly has legit value, I'd definitely explore trade options but They'd need to dig up a replacement rotational big somewhere as well.
only a fan, only an opinion

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
