Without the Nets winning, it would be a tie between Magic (3-1) and Celtics (3-1). Magic win head-to-head tiebreaker. With a three-way tie, point differential comes into play since head-to-head matchup are even between the 3 teams.

Did we not win the point differential regardless of what the nets did?

Nice win.

VC to Brown and Horford. They both did it all tonight.

Al with the best game of the season for him. 16 points on 6-8 from the field, with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. He also had 3 blocks and 2 steals, all in just 28 minutes.

Jrue, White and Tatum were good.

Hauser was with rebounds, was that a career high? That tip dunk off a missed 3 with great. He shot poorly from the field but you have to love the near double double for him off the bench with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Pritchard was solid.

Shout out to Stevens for his 1 block in only 8 seconds of play.

My only with Joe is he didn't play Queta.

Yep.

Let the record show that I am a MASSIVE fan of it.

It’s better than winning Banner 18 to be honest.

Let the record show that what you post is rarely sincere. :D

While other people were emphasizing that he was a better defender than assumed, I've banged the drum about his rebounding for a while. To the eye test, he looks very good at getting long rebounds, and adequate at getting short ones.

Lost in all the dislike and slander, I feel Jaylen is really trying to be a good fit in this offense. It won't happen suddenly and he still has/will have his ugly games but I'm seeing the effort. His ast/to ratio is up to 1.48 this year from 1.18 last year. For reference, Tatum was at 1.60 last year.

I know many don't like Jaylen and the reasons are legit but he's here for at least this season so we should all hope this continues. On the other hand, it'd be great if Tatum stops doing his best Jaylen impression by racking up turnovers.

Also the IST is super fun, glad we're through

JB frustrates me not because he's not a great player, he is, but because he has not played to his and the teams strengths a lot of the time. It would not matter if he wasn't good at all, because he wouldn't be playing and he wouldn't be paid. However because he is very good at many things it becomes a problem for a team trying to win it all.

It's great to have self belief, but not so good for the team when it becomes self delusion. He is a smart guy from all accounts but doesn't seem to be a quick thinker, which is why his decision making in some scenarios is not good.

However the trend of late is excellent. More cuts, more finishing and more quick decisions with trust in others. If he continues to play in this fashion more and more I will love him.

If the Nets lost then the point differential would not come into play because it would have been a 2-way tie between the Magic and Celts.

Since the Magic beat the Cs, it would have been automatic the Magic will advance.

See Zoya's post, but if it was just us and the magic tied at 3-1, then head to head is the tiebreaker and we lose. The nets winning made a third team 3-1 and the all three teams at 3-1 went 1-1 against the other two... then came point differential as the tiebreaker and thus we won the group.

Because if the Nets won and the Celtics lost or did not get the necessary points then it would be the Nets who would advance.

Seems to be taking off quite nicely as far as I can tell.

And agree incentivizing super rich guys to play basketball harder with more money is kind of stupid but it seems like fun too lol.

But incentivizing super competitive guys to play basketball harder for bragging rights and some action ( money) and some of the lower tier players the money is a good bonus. Super rich will have the chance to have all star break style parties in Vegas and to go to "pound town". (yes stole that one from Felger)

It looks like the C's will only get 40 home games this year, due to not getting a home court game in round 1 of the tournament. 41 away games, and 1 neutral site game (maybe 2 if they get to the tourney final). Unless, if they lose in round 1, the league gives them 1 home hame back? Is there a loser play loser of round 1 game? If so, they won't get a home game back if it's in Vegas.

I believe none of the games next week count towards the regular season. If the Celtics didn't get in then they would have had 11 days off. I could be 100% wrong on this, we'll see.

Probably should have an IST sticky thread for next week games. Just a thought.

The QF and SF games count as regular season games. Only the championship game counts as the 83rd game. If we get eliminated in QF/SF, we'd have a match against the other losers which will still count as part of the 82-game sched.
