This tournament is a fantastic idea. Silver is a genius.

It used to be, but as the championship or bust narrative has taken over all of sports media over the last twenty years, it's become less and less popular.

Hence why the NBA decided to go all in (and also why they still don't have a sponsor)

Wonder if we see any scoring schenigans at the end of the game? Intentional fouls, launching 3s etc as of the warriors were plus 12

Celtics were intentionally fouling Drummond up 30+ tonight.

So Kings need to win or lose by 12 or less. Should be a fun 4th quarter
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Don’t think the Kings give a **** about 12 points. They just want to beat the Warriors.

gotta beat New York first. I think any team that has a strong defense and two guards like that (see also: Cleveland) is going to give us problems. I know we beat them the first time but it's still a big challenge.

Does it make more sense to have play the initial elimination games against the other conference? Like I get there's no Eastern Conference IST champion that way, but I think that's a sacrifice im willing to make...

Only good thing about it is the NBA putting pressure on teams to take it seriously, maybe they should just do that with the RS in general rather than continuously devalue it with gimmicks. Using conferences but not divisions is just dumb, either use the divisions or go completely random. Who gives a **** about playing some rando EC team in a what counts as a regular season game? The whole presentation and execution of this is cringe as hell as is any attempts at making US sports like lame ass soccer I can’t stand it or soccer fans in general. Wish Silver would take the job at Disney so he could drive that company in the ground. The play in tournament is lame too, I hate Silver’s NBA bah humbug

It will never happen but an even cooler idea around the draft picks would be if the champion steals the losing teams 2nd round pick 5 years out or whatever. That could create some intense rivalries and it would be hilarious.

This is nothing like European football. This isn't the Champions League or even the **** Europa League. This is like putting Leeds, Hertha Berlin, Sampdoria and Elche in the **** Champions League because we for some reason need every **** team in here even though like 90% of the teams have no chance to win it. It's such a stupid idea.

Champions league or Europa league are not what we are talking about.

In each country we have cup competition where all teams from that country (and that country alone) participate. Not just 1st division but 2nd division too. Those from 2nd division have 0,1% chance to win it but everybody play anyway.

I'm very curious what Steve Kerr said to the team when they called timeout at under 3 minutes. They're up 5 and need to win by 12 to advance. I think its a different approach if the primary objective is to advance in the tournament vs trying to just get a win.

I think the PD will drive some minor tension that would be good. No team likes being beaten by 30+ and watching starters in with 2 minutes left. I'm all for it
