I believe none of the games next week count towards the regular season. If the Celtics didn't get in then they would have had 8 days off.

Probably should have an IST sticky thread for next week games. Just a thought.

The QF and SF games count as regular season games. Only the championship game counts as the 83rd game. If we get eliminated in QF/SF, we'd have a match against the other losers which will still count as part of the 82-game sched.

QF vs. Indiana is the 81st game (41st away game). If we advance, SF game is 82nd game (neutral site). If we lose, there would still be a game vs. another QF loser which will count as 82nd game (likely the 41st home game). Then back to regular slate after that.

He doesn't score enough to be considered imo. That award traditionally goes to a bench scorer. Been more than 20 years that a 6MOY averaged less than 12 pts per game IINM.

See Zoya's post, but if it was just us and the magic tied at 3-1, then head to head is the tiebreaker and we lose. The nets winning made a third team 3-1 and the all three teams at 3-1 went 1-1 against the other two... then came point differential as the tiebreaker and thus we won the group.

This is why this **** will never take off.

On top of being completely stupid.

The last two tiebreakers for the World Cup group stage (you know by far the most popular sporting event on the planet) is the number of yellow and red cards received and then a random drawing. Now that's stupid. In comparison, using point differential actually makes some sense as it's at least related to how the team performed during the competition.

It's not the point differential that I was referring to. It's all these tiebreaker scenarios and such. It's odd to me the Celtics could go 3 and 1 and get bounced before it even starts really.

I really don't understand how it's "respecting the game" to not play hard or use your best strategies. Not putting your best efforts forward is disrespectful to your opponents. If you respect them you pay your hardest because you know if you let up they're capable of making you pay for it.

Well if they don’t trade ~#30+36 in-season I think they can turn that into real future draft capital.

Couldn't watch the game but the boxscore tells me we had 36 assists on 47 field goals. It looks like I missed a good one.

It was the funnest game that kept you on your seat because we had to win by 23 and Brooklyn had to win but not by more than 19. The alternative if Brooklyn lost was an unwinnable wild card unless Charlotte murdered NYK.
