Jak started out strong, but it sure looked like he was getting schooled in the 2nd half

Remains the top must do signing this offseason. We cannot lose this guy.

It's kind of wild how underappreciated he is on this board.

Because not everyone values elite defense, or knows when they see it
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

We really need to have Siakam guard out on the perimeter. He's better guarding one-on-one and Scottie is a better help defender, but instead we have Scottie guarding out on the perimeter.

They both put up 22/8/4ish and you’re complaining still?

They also showed some nice chemistry with Siakam cutting off Barnes penetration that Nurkic barely shut down a couple times

Everyone played great. Gotta remember the dynamics of the gravity that Siakam has in drawing double teams that opens in up for other folks.

someone with range would provide even more gravity.

We also needs someone with range like Zach Lavine, but that would be considered spacing not gravity (for the sake of argument related to his shooting skills). When Pascal has the ball down low it's gravity because defenders are drawn to him which creates opportunities for others like cuts and open threes. When Lavine is on the outside off ball players can't come off him because of the three threat, so it's spacing - which means defenders can't end up easily doubling someone like Pascal.

We definitely need to see that consistency improve from Scottie. Even if there are nights when his shot isn't falling, if he does everything else he can affect the outcome. Just needs to bring that aspect of the game every night.

Just got back from the game. I've been to two games at the SBC this season, the first Bucks game - where we blew them out by 20 - and this one. So I'm getting a very skewed vision of what the Raptors are capable of.

But in both cases, the vaunted opponent was clearly off their game. The Bucks obviously improved after that game, and the Suns are obviously better than what they showed tonight. Perhaps resting for three days in White Vegas slowed them down a bit.

Durant sure whines to the officials a LOT during the timeouts. Maybe it had its intended effect in the fourth quarter, because that was not a favourable whistle for the Raps. Serves Darko right for wasting his challenge on a Precious foul.

You can add Booker to the list of guys that despise playing against OG. He's just so sound defensively. I couldn't care less at his feeble attempts to dribble, try the odd step-back, etc. Even that Euro step tonight was ugly as hell lol. But you live with that because he gives you ELITE defense and is great at 3s. There isn't a single team in the league that wouldn't take him right now and insert him into their starting lineup.

Good Precious showed up and we don't win this without him.
Poeltl has been really good these last 3-4 games. He has some nice chemistry with Dennis.

Siakam was really good in the 1H and then his legs gave out, and then Barnes brought us home in the 4th. Isn't that only the 2nd/3rd game where they both score 20+?

Banres can have a pedestrian 1st half with something like 4 points and 2 rebounds, and then ends the game with a filthy stat line that nobody else on the team, other than Siakam, can do. It's amazing, confusing, and frustrating all at the same time. We need to see this more.

Check how old he is. He's not going to force it all he wants to do is win he doesn't realize him forcing it will make us win yet

For me, he's the best defender in the league. Guarding on the perimeter vs elite wings is the hardest thing to do in the NBA

And then he’ll drill a clutch three on the other side and quietly put up 15-20. Such a good player.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

I think there is also something to be said for your best player being ok with a 15 point game if everyone else is getting involved. There are times when Barnes definitely needs to take more control, but I also appreciate that he is constantly making an effort to set up his teammates.

But he does need to realize there are times in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters where we need 4th quarter mentality to keep games close.

Was in the arena tonight super fun win and seeing KD hitting crazy shots at like 36 is insane. KD will drop 20 points at 45 if he wants too smoothest player I've ever seen. But man really fun game, one of those wins you enjoy seeing in person.

I'll preface this comment by saying I love OG Anunoby but man if a contender ever wanted to give a Godfather offer for a true star killer they'd make their path to a championship a lot easier. Because what I've seen him do to Ant, Booker, Donny, and Luka is S+ tier level stuff.

It's hard to force it when his game and his skill level and the spacing and the lineups make it hard for him to force it. On top of that he is asked to do a lot on defense. He can be better but this roster, the lineups and the rotations are doing Scottie no favors whatso ever.
