Unless Memphis turns it around when Ja and JJJ come back, both conferences look like they may be 11 team races for 10 postseason spots. Also pending another young team suddenly clicking like the Magic last year after starting 5-20. But that kind of turnaround is rare. Will be interesting trade deadline and potentially scheduling quirks if 8 teams see themselves as out of it by mid season and switch to development or tanking. Plus a real competitiveness from the other 22 as you don’t want to finish 11th and have a bad lottery pick.

I have been shocked at how bad the bad teams records have been this year. On paper Detroit, DC, Chicago, Charlotte, Spurs, Memphis looked like they should be beating the teams in the middle more often. really thought it would bunch up the standings even more. Did not see 15 and 12 game losing streaks this early from some of these teams....

Especially since this draft looks so dreadful, didn't think any teams would really manipulate lineups to tank, and i dont know that they have.

All the scores look weird so far tonight. All the teams we would want to lose are losing.

It was certain for Orlando to become the 10-seed that Charlotte, Chicago and Tornoto would need to be caught; the media did not think that is plausible and orediucted another bad year. What is fairly shickling to me is that, at least currently, the Magic is clearly better than both Brooklyn and Atlanta as well.

If things hold, Orlando looks a lot like a direct playoff team. Let's say in the next 20 games Orlando goes 40% (probable for the best outcome given the schedule), that still leave the Magic on a 21-17 record going to the push before the ASW and trade deadline.
AND from there, by definition the schedule lightens up and the Magic might get back to a 55-60% win rate.

Frankly my prediction of a 43 win season seems soft right now. Is 48 the new target?

I was going to say you must be crazy if you think 40% is probable, then i took a look at the schedule, it's brutal in December, and January isn't much better. We've got some soft games sprinkled in, but yikes. Hey maybe those same teams are saying the same about us on their schedule

It would be nice if we could win at least 3 of the next 4 games, give us a little cushion before the real tough ones get here.

I'm hoping for a .500 win rate.

Why would they mail any game in when they all still count towards your regular season record?

Theoretically they're trying to make the playoffs, ya know?

I agree but that team is a mess. They are off chemistry wise.

They are... doesn't mean they are mailing it in. BOS and MIL game both counts the same W-L record in the overall standings.

I think Vuc is just trying to prove yall wrong!!!!! lol

I think it was reported that Bulls coach asked Boston’s coach how many points they needed to win. So, yeah…

It's kind of strange watching wemby play, he's out there doing things.... But his impact on the team? Zero.... The spurs are just as bad as always in recent years... Its going to take some time

It's funny that teams don't seem to be letting up at the end of games any more.

I love the quote on " if Chicago is to find a trade partner, LaVine has to improve on the court". Duh.

Just goes to show that you can't let up even at the beginning. Too late the effort.
