I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Detroit down big and about to lose their 15th game in a row. Feel for their fans.

Maybe Monte wants to get fired to collect that cash while not working?

Monty might not be the best coach for that team, but he has next to nothing to work with.
Cade and Bojan (maybe Monte) are probably the only decent NBA players on that team. Young guys like Thompson and Duren have some potential but still very raw. Other than that it's a bunch of draft busts and journeymen. I'm not sure any other coach would be doing much better with the hand Detroit has.

I’d be curious about what the plan is in Detroit. They seem to be content to lose year after year until they hit in the draft. That honestly might be the best plan available to them but damn it’s brutal to watch for that fan base.

I mean they only lost beg and 2/3rd of a season of boggie. You would expect some development with the young guys year over year. Glad williams didn't have to get a **** job like coaching Dame and Giannis

I keep seeing stuf flike Reaves+ for Lavine and I can't help but think why the hell the Lakers would entertain that. And how could we steal Reaves.

It makes no sense for either team. Just seems to be talking heads creating content/drama involving two big franchises.
Next they'll be floating Reaves and Rui for Brunson or something.

Personally I think it would be great for Chicago.

Lower-level Europe probably has better clubs
China has some amazing clubs and plenty of money to throw at people.
Realgm minor gossip here.
I recently befriended a former professional bball player. He played all over Asia. Was supposed to go to university in the US but had an issue and decided to get paid on a pro team in Asia and just stayed.
Anyway.... He played in Philippines for a few years and left to another Asian team in a different country (Thailand or Taiwan can't remember) but stayed close to the former Philippines team.
One day (this was several years ago) he gets a call from his former teammate that says... Come Philippines tomorrow.. Like get your butt to Manila.
So he heads there is told to go to some club under a name.
He gets there and Harden is there. Just going all out for the boys there. Clubbing and paying for everything. He's got the girls and cash and drinks and he is paying for everything.
Apparently he had/has a "baddie" in Manila that he takes care of. Got her a car, house, the works and he visits her now and then during the off-season.
I'm personally not a fan of Harden, but my friend said he was nice to everyone , paying for everyone going complete baller. (now to be fair ballin in Philippines costs so much less than in the US) but still he was taking care of everybody including guys he didn't know.
So Asia has some really great club scenes, China as well. China can get really expensive, there are tons of billionaires there so there are clubs and "other entertainment" that cater to filthy rich.

Re: Around the League - Cuban selling majority interest in Mav’s
Wasn't Harden in China this offseason doing some Adidas promo when he called out Morey. I've heard how much he drops in a weekend in Vegas and Macau ain't far away if he wanted to play for the Shanghai Sharks.
I think he does like the basketball part of this whole thing, but he never seems content with his situation. Doc was on the Bill Simmons pod last week and it's pretty clear Doc hated him, but he did fully defend his 'want' to practice and just play ball.

Jokic is a great player, but I don't think I have seen a player go from severely underrated to severely overrated so fast.
I was one of his biggest fans 3 years ago, but the hype behind him makes it difficult.

As someone who really wants Giannis to seize the crown back, Jokic deserves his flowers right now given the current historic 3-year run he's on. Whenever I hear the good ol' "He just plays basketball the right way more than anyone I've ever seen" (borderline *dog whistle*) superlatives though?

He definitely has brand presence in China. Years ago when I watched games on hk cable, he was doing the China NBA ads during commercial breaks. This was 5-6 years ago.

Exactly! I was a fan of Joker before he was known as the Joker nationally. I don't want my small rant to take away from him. It's just similar to Lebron, Curry, etc. I have to not let the fans of these players make me dislike them because the hype train is ridiculous.
I keep hearing how there was never a player like Joker......I assume these people never watched Arvydas Sabonis in his prime because that is literally exactly what Joker is. Problem is, he didn't get to spend his prime in the NBA so most people didn't see what he could do.
Obviously, some of my Bucks/Giannis bias plays a part in it....but even besides that I am just sick of everyone gushing over Jokic like we never saw anything like this before. I see big men making passes (including, but not limited to Giannis) just as good as his and the players miss the shots. Heck, in the Bucks/Heat game Giannis had like 6 behind the back passes where the player missed a shot and few "attack the rim, wrap around passes" and the player missing a wide open 3.
