I was just about to ask the same thing. I doubt the Cowboys would have an interest. They are pretty stacked at DL. Leonard makes more sense for the Cowboys.

It wouldn’t be the first time you’ve signed the eagles left overs to gain insider information

Yeah he won't end up on Dallas for the same reason, we have several good pass rushers already so he won't get time.

Yeah probably not. I wonder who the eagles will replace him with. They still have a few guys injured, so maybe it’s an internal move like quez Watkins. Might be for shaq leonard tho

He’s just always been a weird player because when he tries, he can look good, but lately it seems that he doesn’t even try anymore. But even what I would call his “peak” he was still very inconsistent. He’d make some splash plays and then disappear for an entire half and then disappear for like 3 games straight.. Plus there’s been too many times where the eagles will get a key defensive stop and then: “roughing the passer, #96, 15 yard penalty and automatic 1st down…”

Kind of reminds me of a guy named David Irving that used to play for the Cowboys. Immensely talented but super lazy and entitled. He was probably the most talented guy they had on the DL but the guy never felt he had to practice. Even during his contract year he got a high ankle sprain and missed like 10 games. I think he was expecting to come back just for the playoffs and then get paid a big contract. Instead he got cut and played 1 more season for the Raiders and then was out of the NFL.

Barnett never really flashed a ton of talent but he would occasionally look good. He’d just go invisible for 2-3 games after having a few good plays in a row. I think the only reason the eagles drafted him is because he broke Reggie whites sack record at Tennessee.

I remember when he was drafted thinking I wish the Cowboys had a shot at him and thinking the Eagles got a player that was going to be a problem for a while. Turns out he was a problem for the Eagles though.

Looks like Dallas will be hosting Leonard for a visit on Tuesday. Don’t know how much he has left but they do need LB depth and he’s the best available LB on the market.

I honestly wasn’t high on him before that draft. I thought he was more of a mid 20 type pick but after reading into him more after the eagles drafted him, I thought the eagles got a good player. But yeah, it never really worked out.

I think if I remember correctly I wanted one of the cornerbacks or Jonathan Allen. Allen was looked at as a top 10 pick if he wasn’t injured. I thought at the eagles pick that might’ve been a bargain but they went with the other DE, Barnett..lol

One thing I think people are forgetting about Leonard is he’s great at presnap reads. He might not be the same guy after the ball is snapped but I think he’s still capable of getting his guys in the right spots before the ball is snapped.

Looks like Shaq Leonard will not be signing with the Cowboys. Apparently his meeting went well but he left without signing a contract. He’s still determined to meet with Philly. Jerry has always said that he will not let a player leave without signing (if he really wants him). The Cowboys have more money available (than the Eagles) to sign Leonard and have a ton of playing time for him. Either Shaq just REALLY wants to play for Philly or there is a reason the Cowboys allowed him to leave. Medical maybe?

I think he’s pretty shot. Eagles would only sign him if Zach Cunningham is going to miss a ton of time. If not they basically already have Shaq with Cunningham, it’s essentially the same guy.

With Ertz being released in Arizona, could we see a reunion in Philly with Goedert out?

He’s also 10 catches away from the eagles all time catch record

I’m good with bringing ertz back, but the eagles need help on defense not offense

Makes sense. He could sign for the vet min and finish his career in Philly.
