As of now we’ll get the 28th (DAL), 33rd (DET), 36th (UTA)

We’re not keeping all those so I wonder if we could consolidate and move up

Move up? :

Those picks are getting turned into 2027 conditional second rounders.

Maybe they learned their lesson with how Duren is doing. Maybe they’ll turn it into a future first with less protections

I don’t think the Mavs can keep the record up. It’s a two man show and a long season. I expect the Knicks to have two picks in the early to mid 20’s.

They have limited options though because the roster is still packed. Moving up (or down) for a euro stash makes a certain amount of sense or getting a kid they can send to the G-league like they did Mcbride and Sims works too. They still have an eye for talent but haven’t drafted anyone in two seasons.

Some of those picks are definitely getting sold or traded

If we have two 1st‘s this year (and no trades happen) I could see us:
Draft 1 and stash in Europe, after all,Thibs is coach.
Draft 1 to roster
Use both picks to move up if they like a player.
Of course the most likely event is trading the picks fwd or for a backup 4. Thanks Thibs!

I highly doubt we have two rookies on the roster. (Unless someone falls and we see it as an asset but I doubt any agent wants that for a client under Thibs w this roster.)

Ps - We still have Rokas in Europe.

Once we pay quick, we probably should use both picks on kids to put in a trade. Whatever team it is going to want rookie scale contracts. Just grab whatever wing you can without a completely broken jumper and hope for the best. Even if you don’t include them in the trade they can hopefully be able to replace RJ, IQ, or Grimes in the rotation.

I would love to get Reed Sheppard on this team. Could be another late 1st/early 2nd steal for us like IQ and Mitch. He plays defense like he is Thibs love child, not afraid to knock down the 3 and a connector on the offense.

His dad Jeff Sheppard was my favorite ncaa player to watch when I was a kid, I even had a 15 jersey , a bit surreal to be watching his son play it makes me feel super old  Needless to say I’m a fan, wasn’t even sure if he was going to be nba caliber and he is coming off the bench but now I see him on the draft boards.

Cody Williams is a wing I’m pretty intrigued by that’s mocked in the teens right now. Looks athletic and has a little bit of a pull up game.

Tristen Newton is an interesting prospect, his game is tailor made for today’s NBA but he will be 23, with the right team will be a 2nd round steal. If the Max Struss, and Gabe Vincent’s of the world find a role no doubt Newton will.

His game reminds me of Shabazz Napier and he’s 6’5 unlike Shazz who is 6’1 probably 6’0.

I think Cody is going to go high. He’s a bit raw, but his brother is really good, and there have been enough brother success stories in the NBA I think someone drafts him earlier than his stats justify. Jalen Johnson’s brother Kobe might sneak into a first round pick for the same reason.

Dunn is just a great defender. Like a bigger Miles McBride, the offense is a a struggle but there is enough self creation and potential 3 pt shooting to give you hope he could develop into a D&3. The shot doesn’t look broke for example. He could definitely be the Knicks answer to their combo forward issue at 6’8 and 7’1 wingspan. The problem is if his shot doesn’t improve he is basically Michael Kidd-Gilcrest.

Knecht might go early in the draft. It depends on how much being a redshirt senior hurts him. To me his game is a mix of Mikal Bridges with Atlanta’s Bogdan Bogdanović. Like Mikal he is very efficient and a pesky defender and like Bogdan he is a pesky hard nose scorer with a little mean streak to his scoring. The big question here is he just a grown man at 22 playing against kids so you disregard the ability he’s shown or is he like Mikal where he just benefitted from learning the game in college.

Both guys might go early but there is enough red flags there I think they could be available in the 20’s where the Knicks will be at.

He just plays different. No one out works him on the floor and I love that. He would fit in well with the Villanova crew.

 From the lack of posts it looks like the Board has given up on the idea of the Knicks getting and using a decent draft pick this year.

Most under rated player in CBB Zach Edey. I watched him again yesterday against a good fast Alabama team. He moves well hes got GREAT stamina for 7-4 hes an absolute fundamental force at the rim. Hes a modern version of Yao Ming. Id pick him at our 16-22 pick in a heartbeat--move on from one of our centers

Also take Tristen Newton second rd to replace Deuce to short Mcbride
Vanilla Ice is the best rap artist of all time
