Off-Season Plan (Assuming the Cardinals trade Murray and want to move up for Williams)
Coaching
Fire them all.
Head Coach:Jim Harbough or Ben Johnson. Either option would be great but I'd prefer Jim because he has proven success as an NFL Head Coach. He also coached Colin Kaepernick to extreme highs. Kap and Fields have very similar strengths and weaknesses so Harbough seems to be the perfect coach for JF1.
Offensive Staff: I would like to bring in Ken Dorsey and Mike Shula. Both have worked with Josh Allen who is also very similar to Fields. Shula was also the OC/QB coach for Cam Newton in Carolina (including his MVP season) and again, Newton is very similar to Fields. With these two, plus Harbough, Feilds would officially have zero excuses. He has the talent and now the right coaching staff around him.
Defensive Staff: For Defensive coordinator, Leslie Fraizer is a no-brainer. The Roster is setup to fit his scheme and he can reunite with Edmounds. I would also love it if we could steal Al Harris from the Cowboys.
Special Teams: Bring back Chris Toub. The ST is one of the worst.
Cuts:
Cody Whitehair: Saves 9.14m in cap. No explanation is needed.
Trenton Gill: Saves 950k. He's terrible.
Eddie Jackson: Saves 12.5 in cap. I love him and he has been above average but he's old and too injury-prone at this point of his career.
Resignings with 2024/25 cap hit:
Darnell Mooney, WR: 5m
Cairo Santos, K: 2.5m
Jaylon Johnson, CB: 17m
Dan Feeney, G: 1m
Rasheem Green, DE: 1m
Marcedes Lewis, TE: 1m
Trent Taylor, WR: 1m
Pat Scales, LS: 1m
Pre-Free Agency Trades:
1. Trade the 1st overall pick to the Cardinals for 2nd overall, 17th overall (currently), 34th overall, and 2025 1st.
2. Trade DeMarcus Walker and Nate Davis for a 6th-rounder each. Walker just hasn't been good and he shouldn't a starter next season. what he'd be owed is too much for a role play. Davis hasn't been available and we can upgrade. Trading Walker and Davis saves 7.5 and 7.3 in cap respectively.
3. Braxton Jones, 2024 3rd and 2025 4th for Ronnie Stanley. Projected cap hit of 15m.
Free Agency: Enterting with 57.2 in cap
Justin Madubuike, DT: 15m
Grant Delpit, S: 10m
Kevin Zeitler, G: 7.5m
Tyler Biadasz, C: 8m
Saquon Barkley, RB: 9m (Definitely a luxury signing, but he would contribute to having a fully loaded offense.)
Tommy Townsend, P: 2m
Cap After FA: 6.7m
Draft:
Trade 2nd rounder down to get an extra 4th
RD 1: Marvin Harrison Jr, WR
RD 1: Laiatu Latu, DE
RD 1: Brock Bowers (after trading up if necessary)
RD 2: Sedrick Van Pran, OC/OG
RD 4: Jack Nelson, OT/OG
RD 4: Zak Zinter, OG
RD 5: Defensive End
RD 6: Safety
Rd 6: Corner
Roster:
Stanley/Zeitler/Biadasz/Jenkins/Wright
Barkley/Herbert/Johnson
Moore/Harrison/Kmet/Bowers/Mooney
Fields/Bagent
Sweat/Dexter/Madubuike/Latu
Sanburn/Edmunds/Edwards/
Johnson/Gordon/Stevenson/Smith
Brisker/Grant
This would be a top 3 offensive skill set (if not number 1) and defensively we have a top 4 pass rush and the secondary will be good to great. Injuries may be a concern but we've added great depth so that should be relatively managable.

Fields lacks basic fundamentals, like being able to read a defense, react quickly, make anticipation throws, having pocket presence, and being able to perform in the clutch. All of the QB's being discussed on here look superior in these aspects. The only thing Fields has on them is his running ability, and his deep ball accuracy, which we never get to see.
Bo Nix and Penix have no business being mentioned as replacements for fields. I don't care how bad you think Fields is, he is significantly better than them and any other QB not named Caleb Williams. I've seen 0 games of Maye so i can't speak on that but no one else should be considered. It would set us back another 3-5 years.

Latu Looks great. Got to see him in person this year against Colorado. He has elite play recognition. Reminds me a lot of Jared Allen and stands up a lot like Von Miller. The only thing that concerns (and its a small concern) me is that he's met little resistance. The onlines he's gone up against have been terrible.

After far as online, I think getting them in the draft is too risky. You never know if a OLineman will translate to the NFL. I'd rather trade/sign for established high talent players and then draft depth in the later rounds to develop.

FSU about to get massively screwed out of the playoff. Too bad. Elite defense, lots of NFL players on that side of the ball IMO

two 1st round WRs potentially and a good RB. They better not be taken out.

$EC owns college football.
The decision has already been made IMO. The announcers of the FSU game were already not so subtly mentioning over and over how Alabama has the best win of the season and that’s all that matters. Not wins and losses.
Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama

Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama
wins and losses shouldn't be the entirety of it
the biggest fallacy when it comes to the SEC is that they play the toughest schedules. they don't (ahead of only ACC in power 5 SOS this season) because their non-conference schedules are s***. and they deserve penalty for that. it's unacceptable. BUT alabama did schedule texas, which happened to be their only loss. and which contributed to making their schedule significantly tougher than FSU's
had FSU not scheduled 2 non-conference patsies and beat legit teams instead they'd be the easy choice over 'bama. but now they're losers in the SOS category because playing in the weakest power 5 conference wasn't enough of an advantage and so they chose to further soften their schedule
btw, no offense to FSU, but the 4 elite defenses are all in the big 10

Don’t know what to think about Nix. Think he’s more of a game manager.
he's one of the quickest to get the ball out and has a beautiful sidearm quick out. basically the anti-justin in terms of throwing
not sure 40 TDs vs. 3 INTs screams game manager
Watch his games. You will see.
he's 4th in the nation in adjusted pass yards per attempt. he's not dinking and dunking. nor is he not throwing a lot given that he's 10th in attempts

I'm a huge Longhorn fan. That was the best game Ewers has played in his career. It was his 21st start. He's a red shirt sophomore, only 20 yard old. Rumors are trickling that he will decide to return for one more season at Texas. He's eying the WRs that have declared for the Portal. He's losing his favorite targets...Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell and Ja'Tavion Sanders. All three will probably get drafted in the Top 50. Their defensive tackle tandem of Byron Murphy and T'Vondre Sweat will be drafted by the end of the second round too. If Ewers returns he would be a or near the top of prospective QB prospects for the 2025 Draft.

Who would you leave out? Texas beat Alabama and only has 1 loss. Alabama just beat the 2 time champ. It's a shame someone has to go home, but FSU won't have their starting QB so I think that tips the scales in favor of the other two. I think AL is in for sure and it's between TX and FSU.

If the Bears don't take a WR in the first round, I'd like to see them take one in the 4th-5th rounds. 2nd and 3rd rounds should be for O linemen, a center and another guard or swing tackle. Then take a WR, so we go into next year with DJ, Mooney, Scott and the draftee. From what Dice posted awhile back, you can get quality WR's later in the draft, more so than other positions.

Clearly Alabama. Texas beat Alabama in Alabama, same record, both conf champs. There is no argument. Alabama looked like garbage 7 days ago and needed a miracle to be in the discussion.
A power 5 undefeated school has never been left out of the CFP until today. ESPNs own predictors gave them a 97% chance of getting in, but the money grubbing humans are the ones to decide.

Bo Nix was somewhere between average and below average as a SEC QB.
At Oregon you are playing with a huge talent advantage around you most games.

Nix is not a NFL QB. He'd be best used as Taysom Hill. Penix isn't every athletic, doesn't have a super strong arm and isn't highly accurate. He's doomed to be painfully average, at best.
If anyone other than Maye and Williams should be talked about, it should be Jayden Daniels

Yeah Daniels is gonna rise. His only weakness is his frame, which is easily correctable. He can make all the throws, and is much faster than people realize.

The fact that the Texas have a d-lineman named "Kurt Hinish" makes me laugh way too hard for reasons only Bulls fans from the mid 2000's could possibly understand.
