I’m pretty sure the Griffin trade was done by previous FO.

Everything you said is correct. However they weren’t starting with a young franchise cornerstone they already drafted or a rookie contract they traded for. When a team doesn’t have the franchise cornerstone, they need to hit all their picks (which no one does) or have extreme luck.

While they certainly missed a number of picks, they also had two picks that anyone would have taken in Cade and Ivey that are looking to be misses in hindsight or at least on that Pistons team.

Keep in mind they were offered SGA for Cade and said no, if they really wanted a guaranteed young star to build around they could have made that trade.

If that is true…wow. Now that you mention it I do vaguely recall that but who knows what is real or what really happened. Cade was being referred to as the next Luka.

It’s always fun to compare the perspectives of future hope with hindsight reality.

Realistically the Pistons weren't going to trade that pick, they were starting from essentially zero and teams with the number 1 pick in the draft virtually never trade it for an established star.

But just because a team has the number 1 pick doesn't mean they're getting a superstar, or even an All-Star level player, there's an argument that if you're offered a young player already playing at a star level like Shai, it's a deal you should take. Markelle Fultz is a good recent example of a player that was hyped up massively to the point the 76ers traded up to get him, his college numbers were in some ways better than Cade's and he was basically a bust from day 1.

It's an interesting debate, no doubt. Do you take the mystery box of a player who could be the next Markelle Fultz? Or do you take the player who is headed into his year 23 season and has just put up better than 50/40/80 percentages averaging 24.5PPG, 5.9APG, 5.0RPG?

could you imagine if the media picked the playoffs in the NBA like they do in college football? We wouldn’t have a single playoff win in our history :o

Was thinking the same thing then I see his comments today on the Raptors and make me realize why I’m glad he’s off the team again lol.

Eason insane for even thinking he was getting that technical free throw lmao I bet Udoka would've chewed him out too if he actually took it lol.

Apparently Eason was fouled on the play and went to line up for his free throws. That's not really an excuse, but I could see some players on our team doing the same thing.

Except we don't have a 90% FT shooter :'(

Indy vs Boston, and they are talking about how wide open the paint area is because both teams can shoot the 3 from their entire lineup

I'm liking the main character, but the rest seems off to me. It's just a teaser trailer though.

Houston losing some tough games. They play the right way though, Udoka building that culture with them and I think Fred and Dillon were the right players to help support it. Cost a ton of money though lol
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.
