Halliburton’s camp did maneuver him to the Kings for what it’s worth. He was expected to be a top 5ish pick that year.

That was the first Covid draft, it was easier than ever to manipulate the draft order.

The Celtics are really the anti-2024 bucks right now. All the hype in the first 3 quarters, good defense and zero clutch.
I knew they were going to lose the close game.
The Pacers kept playing their game and Haliburton kept making good decisions without turnovers.
The Celtics started the Tatum and Brown ISOs which are either buckets, turnovers or bad bricks with the other just simply watching and in between Jrue's dumb turnovers and missed layups who fully replaced Markus Smart but with way worse efficiency overall.

Giannis closed off the Suns with Jrue shooting 4-19 (12 points) and that wasn't even his worst offensive night these playoffs either.
Jrue had a great regular season last year but that's not his playoff self and the Celtics journalists kept comparing these numbers to Dame's and Smart's.

I’m hopeful we’ll see how much easier it is to score points when Jrue isn’t missing 15 shots in a playoff game. I love him, but his offense was criminal at times.

And decision making. I still remember the Feb/March game vs GSW. Somehow dribbles it off his knee when all we had to do was hold it for the foul. He also missed a late FT that game.

In playoffs I want offense like Dame over Jrue’s defense, especially if it’s his Jimmy Butler defense.

Only thing I'm wondering about is are the crowds going to care in Vegas? There's no way they are as engaged as a home game.

Especially at 2pm on a Thursday. There’s no way that’s actually true, is it? How could the league **** this up this bad???

Jrue goes down as a Bledsoe equivalent if not for Durant’s toe. He shot 5 for 23 that game. 5 for 23! In a game 7 that we somehow won.

Great dude, made incredible plays including some clutch shots that helped us win a title, but overall was abysmal offensively and it does indeed look like we got out at the absolute right time.

I personally do not miss Jrue turning down easy right-handed layups in favor of difficult left-handed layups.

hes super physical, even when he doesnt have the ball, hes jsut shoving people out of his way all the time.

his whistle is one of the most offensive in the nba.

We probably shouldn't complain too loudly about this kind of thing.

Thats 2pm in Vegas.....Why?

Also 2pm in LA for me. WTF, Silver?

I assume it's because they need 4 hours between games (allows for OT and then warmups). But still. Seems they went cheap when they had to choose between TV and cost of having two venues.

Yeah Ive been saying this since 2021. Granted he's better than bledsoe but his history as a buck changed incredibly by us getting lucky against the nets.

Feel worst took the simplest win now approach to get Jrue but didn't think he was a great overall fit with Giannis for both style of play and timeline. Add in the amount of resources we gave up for him in money and picks makes me think we could've done a lot better if we waited.....then again maybe Giannis doesn't resign if we don't trade for jrue

The best part of the Jrue trade was his comment about "well they got what they wanted out of me" is essentially what he said. I was laughing my ass off, no dude Giannis and Khris dragged your ass to a chip. He made a few good plays and everyone forgets the rest.

Come on now, championships are not all about offense. Jrue brought the defense better than anyone on the perimeter including Khris. He also had a tendency, prior to last year’s playoffs, to be good in the clutch even if he was struggling offensively in a given game.

Jrue was a great Milwaukee Buck, any ill will towards him comes from a place of ignorance.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Yeah we are just talking about his offense. Defensively he was a monster and very clutch. His steals were like the Giannis/Brook blocks.
He did have 1 great game offensively in him per series but other than that night you didn't want him to be the 2nd or even 3rd option at that side of the court and especially to handle the ball like a PG.

I find it kind of weird that him and his wife seemed like no one cared he was traded....when he probably had the biggest sad fan reaction to a trade since Ray. And remember Grayson Allen, he was traded too and no one even noticed. He was actually treated like a human in the trade while Allen was a commodity.

We did get what we wanted out of him though.

Why is it necessary to do this to Jrue? He was a good player, great person, and the missing piece to the championship. He wasn't perfect but he played his ass off and they wouldn't have won without him. He and his wife embraced the city and do so much good.

He is allowed to show that he's human.
