Barstool Sports is largely just a bunch of aggressively unfunny Bros who've made a brand out of catering to the Joe Rogan demographic, but Big Cat is pretty hilarious (also a Badger fan).

Have you actually consumed Big Cat or PFTs content or do you just have a blanket barstool-bad mindset. It's a pretty diverse company at this point and like any big media group there some good and some shite.

Donnies travel stuff is their best content.

Big Cats and PFT's fastest two minutes always make me laugh. When they interviewed berman was great.

I don't know about that one, even when Jones was playing its not like he was getting an inordinate amount of touches in the offense. I don't think his presence/absence has changed our offensive approach.
It just feels like they've been more aggressive the past few weeks. Now maybe that's MLF having more faith in the Oline, felt like he was calling a scared game for a while there.

It also kind of felt like they saw the season going up in flames and decided to at least go out swinging and so far it's worked.

My theory: MLF started coaching conservatively (“scared”) because
A) the team was struggling to run his offense and he was looking for anything that would move the ball (he was trying to fix those “slow starts” lol).
B) Love went through a bad stretch where he looked completely bewildered—he had zero idea what to throw and what not to throw. Getting him some easy short completions was an attempt to get him back on track.

But the biggest single reason for the improvement is the run-blocking and pass-protection schemes seem to have finally rounded into form. Now we’re getting positive yards on 1st and 2nd down, we’re running the ball, PA is alive, everything else falls into place.

I honestly think the biggest thing with MLFs play calling being better is we are just executing better. The blocking has been better, it feels like routes are being run better, Love is playing with a ton more confidence then earlier in the year. I've always been a big fan of MLF as a play caller in general though

Absolutely. Especially the blocking. But I do think he definitely went through a conservative phase w his play-calling, understandably so imo (think of the denver game).

MLF & Co deserve a ton of credit. They started off trying to run his offense, guys couldn’t make it work, they fumbled around trying some other stuff, and then they got things functional. Outstanding coaching job with all the youth and injuries. Ppl who wanted MLF fired are crazy.

Another 40 minutes of analysis from an outsider's perspective. JT has always liked Love, but is down right infatuated with him at this point. His main point is MLF is getting plays to work that Jordan can be in rhythm - and Jordan is fantastic in rhythm, really driving the ball with anticipation and accuracy.

Interesting data. It seems to correlate with the eye test for the guys at the top of the list (that I've watched this season). Mahomes appearing mortal at times does connect to his mediocre corps of Receivers, outside of Kelce. We saw too many drops (along with errant throws) from Love early on, but both seem to be smoothing out as the season has gone on. Also, is there data to show how the drop numbers are as a percentage of QB throws?

On the flip side, what is the corresponding list of Recievers and their miscues? For example, MVS has famously struggled with key drops recently.

We've already seen plenty of video that shows "catchable" doesn't actually mean anything.

To clarify these aren't the same as what PFF considers "catchable". This is a different data point

Love at 8th in EPA/dropback for QBs that have started at least 4 games.

I know some fans seem to think Love is inaccurate, and that was definitely somewhat true early in the season but in the 2nd half of the season(so week 9 and after) Love is 5th in CPOE in the NFL. His weekly ranks are below

Week 9: 5th
Week 10: 17th
Week 11: 10th
Week 12: 7th
Week 13: 6th
Week 14: 11th
Week 15: 6th

Overall in the 2nd half of the season Jordan Love is 5th in EPA/Play, 5th in CPOE, and 4th in the Composite score

His season total ranks are 9th in EPA/Play, 20th in CPOE, and 13th in the Composite score

I can't breakdown week by week in DVOA but he's 11th on the season in DVOA

While he had his struggles early on in the season even his "bad games" in the 2nd half of the season have been above average and he's significantly improved from an accuracy perspective. Packer fans should be incredibly optimistic about Jordan Love imo

Love misses basic-ass throws. The layups that sail way the hell out of range or put receivers in bad spots to catch them. It's often because he's not setting his feet, but other times he's just out there missing for no reason at all.

He makes the occasional superstar throws and he definitely had one yesterday, but the QB who won simply made all the basic throws to open receivers.

Baker absolutely hit all the open throws yesterday, but Love also was very solid. Love finished with a completion % 11.5% higher than expected yesterday. People will remember the big miss early to Reed and that was obviously a really poor throw, but on the whole in the 2nd half of the season Love has been much more accurate including yesterday where he had the 6th best CPOE in the NFL.

Love was not any version of the word "solid". I absolutely do not care what CPOE says. If it tells you Love was actually good, you need to find a new stat.
