They're trolling. They're playing Sochan as a PG which is like play Stewart as our full time PG.

There is some validity to what Kalamazoo said. There is a LOT of parity in the league. There are a handful of elite teams and a handful of bottom feeders, but (and I'm just making up numbers here) 80% of the league is somewhere in the middle. The gap in talent between the 4th & 12th team is relatively minor.

IF you are one of those few bottom feeders (like us or the Spurs), then there are very few other opportunities to play teams on that same tier. You are fighting uphill almost every single night. That might seem obvious, but 2 changes in recent history have had adverse effect on teams in this exact position; first was the re-balancing of draft odds to de-incentivize tanking. Then the Play-In gave more teams the ability to remain in the chase longer into the season. Now you also have the 2nd apron further pushing teams back down towards the median.

All this is serving the intended effect; league-wide parity. They want for as many teams as possible to be competitive. Which makes perfect sense. But now if you are in the bottom you need to find ways to make some substantial upgrades to jump into that next tier. Incremental isn't going to get it done, unless you are exceptionally patient and have some good luck on your side. HOU went out and accelerated that process. We have had some bad luck with injuries, but have also clearly taken a different approach this season.

Regardless, the point is that if you have a young team that is devoid of experience and/or talent you are going to struggle in this league. Go down that schedule and there are no easy games. We're the easy game.

Yep. Which is why I think avoiding treadmill status might actually be easier. What I mean is that if you get to the place where you're in the middle, there's three ways that can go that don't feel the same as it used to in terms of being stuck on the treadmill

1. You could sneak into the play in, at which point there's some scant possibility of getting hot and going on a Miami Heat style run
2. You could dip into the lottery, at which point there's some possibility of getting luck and drafting a top player to add to your roster
3. You could be in position to make a big trade for a star. If you add a star to an already decent team, then they might actually vault you into competitive status. If your team is terrible, adding a star won't do that.

So I'm actually starting to see some value to being in the middle and not as much penalty as there used to be. Maybe Houston was right to make the moves they did? Maybe we should try to obtain competence in free agency next go around?

"New York City’s District Attorney’s office has offered a plea deal to Kevin Porter Jr., who could avoid jail time after being accused of hitting and strangling his now ex-girlfriend in September."

I had no idea Wemby and the Spurs have lost 12 straight.

Absolutely insane Cade would barely go top 5 in a redraft (Barnes, Wagner, Mobley, Sengun) and unfortunate the Piston's didn't pick high enough in 2022 or 2023.

Meh, end of year after he's been surrounded by Bojan, Monte and hopefully another vet we've traded for and we'll all forget about this and we would definitely want to draft him first over those clowns. Last game he looked pretty damn good. I plan on watching a lot more of those types of games going forward

This time last year folks would've said the same thing about Barnes. And color me skeptical on Mobley until he proves he's got more of an offensive game.

Orlando has won 9 in a row and has the third best record in the league... Yes, they had a slight head start because they got the Bulls to give assets for Vucevic... but their young guys have certainly been impressive. They are so much better now than they were 3 years ago before the broke it up. A quick turnaround for them from bottom to playoff team.

Franz is probably the steal of that draft, which helps.

According to Rasheed Wallace, Green’s outbursts stem from what he saw in the locker room of Detroit’s 2004 NBA championship team featuring himself, Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, Ben Wallace and Tayshaun Prince. “That’s our fault… [Draymond Green] grew up in [the 2004 Pistons] locker room,” Wallace said on the show. “One of his best friends was the son of the GM, so he was around us… Practice, in the locker room, after games, before games, he heard the different language, and we all know it’s a different language when the cameras are not there. … That’s why he doing the bully s— he doing now, in my opinion. He caught all that s— in our locker room.”

He has done some crazy things, but just as a devils advocate type thing, who’s to say what’s right or wrong being hard or soft? Being nice or not? Society as a whole has flipped from hard to soft (it seems) for lack of a better term from my uneducated ass, lol. Also some has flipped to very weird

This is wild. I can't tell if he's deliberately trying to hurt somebody, or if he's just recklessly flailing his body around like an infant.

Anyway, they say the best predictor of future-behavior is past-behavior. The pattern will continue because it's allowed to continue.
