Actually, it was making me sick having to take the negative stance towards another Kings player. I wish Keegan nothing but love in his future endeavors. Lets hope his newfound defensive prowess matches the offensive bag he has shown in spurts and he balls out for the franchise

Haha. Or at least not make it so easy. 20% of the general public believes damn near anything.

For the record, I don’t want to trade Sabonis. I just think having good wings is really really important.

I agree regarding the wings and it was worth debating and you two kept it civil and respectful.

Sabonis is an all nba guy and who knows if Keegan will ever sniff that, but once he gets the legs to go at it on both ends, look out.

Also, I know most wouldn't want to hear it, but Keegan defending better may just keep HB in town.
I still don't believe he will lose the starting job even though I have said for a while the team would be better with Lyles or Sasha starting. HB may just lose minutes though.

So as of now, heading into the Suns game the Kings are ranked:

#13 on offense (114.4)
#21 on defense (115.1)

Same time last season:
#3 on offense (115.8)
#26 on defense (114.4)

Going back to the wings point.

The thing about it is this. You have to be a team that UTILIZES WINGS properly. And there is the size factor. Having a roster full of 6’5” guys only seems to be workable if you are Miami. Anyone else needs those wings to be 6’8”+ otherwise you are out sized inside too much (our problem).

Our playing style does not include an active attacking constant defense. So simply saying “we need to get wings” doesn’t help us.

Having only played like 3 games in 12 days this next up run is crucial. I've seen people mention about the home schedule etc and this season may just come down to the next 4 weeks.
15 games in that period, only 4 on the road.
Because the stretch after that is brutal. 24 games and just 7 at home.

Then you have the last 12 games, Philly, Dallas x 2, Clippers, Knicks, Celtics, Thunder, Pelicans and Suns.

Buuuut not getting ahead of myself. Get a good W against the Nets and come out with energy, it's goign to be important if Malik isn't playing. Not sure what his status is?

The Nets game was a model of what I think we get long term with Keegan. I would think we see more 3 level offense and a little less defense if we can find a true 3 and D wing.

last year the paint defense was more of my concern with our pitiful interior defense, and this year we are still bottom 10. I'd think our D would improve as much adding a traditional shot blocking and spacing big PF next to Domas than another wing which Keegan has developed into, but I guess its subjective

Yeah that would be great adding a player like Jaren Jackson but to be frank those guys are pretty hard to find.

JJJ would be one of the guys that I would trade Keegan for. BUT you still only have him for 2.5 seasons. I'm not sure on how easy it would be to extend him.
Mobley would be another.

Looks like we're signing Juan Toscano-Anderson to a one year deal. I like it, helps fill a depth roster spot if we do a consolidation deal as well *cough*OG*cough*.

Great to see Keegan have that career night! 11 straight 3PTers is insane. Glad to see him shake the rust off. He is too good of a shooter to remain in the low 30%s 3PT in the season.

Also, I love seeing Keon Ellis carving out into a bigger role on this team! The first time we saw him in the SL couple of years ago, dude looked like a diamond in the rough. Always liked him as a player. I just listened to his most recent interview, sounds like a stand up guy too.

Keon is working hard and it's showing out in his game. Always thought his activity was really good on the defensive end, but would need to work more on positioning. Looks like they have been on him about that, and wasn't sure his 3pt shot would come around. Hopefully it keeps going.

Keegan Last 5 games (plus he is playing some decent defense):
23.2/5/1.4
1.4 steals
2 turnovers total

41/71 - .577 FG%
17/33 - .515 3P%
17/20 - .850 FT%

I don't wish injuries on any player, but if I wanted one player from the Timberwolves to miss a game KAT would be far down on my list. Gobert is far, far more influential on the game.

But its good to know

Towns has been the Wolves best player this year. 50/40/90 and #2 in the NBA in DRtg.

He’s not the Towns you remember.
