I don't know if Klay is "done" or not. All I know is my eyes well up every time I see Haliburton's stats. 52.1/44.7/88.1 with four 3 PMs and 12 assists per game. Gigantic missed opportunity. :banghead:

Yeah it was sooo obvious. Gigantically so. Plain as the nose on your face.

That's why he was taken 12th and the 11 teams with the highest picks all passed on him.

Add Haliburton to the other obvious picks the Warriors (and over a third of the league) missed like Giannis and Jokic and Paul George and Kawhi and... and...

Armchair gms with 100% hindsight just stating the obvious.

Would you categorize Devin Vassell as a "missed opportunity" for the Dubs? You liked him enough to take his name as your forum ID. :D

Stop with the silliness. Of course not.

Taking Vassell at 2 would have been a massive stretch just like taking Haliburton at 2 would have been a massive stretch.

Maybe the win now dubs should have traded out of the draft but nobody in the first 11 picks identified Haliburton as their best available prospect. Nobody traded down or up to get him. Stop acting like he was can't miss with your :banghead:

Again, hindsight is easy.

Also the Kings traded Haliburton.

There's a thread in the GB about how Haliburton is carrying all the time but the refs aren't calling it.

As a rookie he looked mostly right-handed, didn't see him go to the hole to his left. Also for a 6-5 guy, he put up these soft floaters instead of finishing strong. Not necessarily dunk on anyone but should be able to draw at least a lot of contact at the rim.

That is probably why he dropped, because he wasn't this athletic beast.

His main weapon seems to be the double step back 3. I didn't like it when Harden did it or even Curry but at least the league lets all players do it.

Teams may try to drive him off the 3, force him to make contested finishes in the restricted circle.

Simple question then - Given your preference of Devin Vassell, were you the Dub's GM, what would you have done with the #2 pick?

Trade back. Everyone would have traded back. The Warriors were publicly trying to trade the pick. There was interest in the pick, not much, but some. The Warriors weren't going to get an unprotected future pick in return or anything like that. But someone offered something for #2.

Yet we kept the pick. I have my theory as to why that happened but nobody really knows.

I would have taken Fox and the number 12 from Sacremento... oh wait!

Pretty hard to speculate.

What are my offers? Woo me.

I mean we've been through this so many times. It's amazing you could be so clueless. The OBVIOUS answer that literally EVERYONE here knows is that Joe Lacob always wanted a "legit 7-footer" like James Wiseman. Period. The End. Finito.

But I'm sure your response is "ehhh, you don't have any proof" LMAO just like always a moron

I'm one of the main proponents on this board of the idea that Lacob forced the Wiseman pick. You could have just asked me.

Can you please have the composure to refrain from calling me or anyone else a "moron" or any other insults? I know you thrive on conflict but everyone else is just trying to have a nice conversation.

Here's the actual reality of the Wiseman pick delivered to us from a journalist instead of some random dude on a message board.

I don't think anyone who is at all serious has ever suggested that Bob Myers or Steve Kerr or others in the Warriors organization weren't as high on Wiseman and Lacob (or his son, Kirk, for that matter) simply put his foot down. I think people have considered the idea that Lacob, as the final-say guy when it gets down to it, was surely emphatic in his Wiseman enthusiasm, while carrying significant weight.

This is standard speak. And Lacob isn't lying here. Again, to a man, the Warriors raved about Wiseman's talent from day one. To think Lacob went into the war room and demanded Bob Myers draft Wiseman when everyone else wanted Ball, or someone else, would be a work of fiction. The truth is that Lacob wanted Wiseman badly. So did everyone else. The Warriors perhaps made the mistake of thinking too much in terms of roster need than the best overall player, but that was still a consensus strategy.
