Yep because these other "options" Im hearing are much worse.
I like what Donovan does enough to want to see it in NY, plus he is a NY guy, a Mets fan, and all that would be fun.
From a basketball sense, I realize neither is a very good option. Now if we can get him at a relatively low cost... then idk... I think we'd have to figure out a way to make it work.
Then say goodbye to Grimes and IQ (and probably a 2FRPs)

We are saying good bye to IQ anyways this summer

I really want Grimes and IQ to thrive here but Thibs can't figure out and offensive scheme that takes advantage of all these guys.

It would sure be an interesting guard set. We could stagger them as well and have a clear bench advantage constantly.
I wonder if they and their agents would agree to it?
If they both played together and were never staggered, could Melo guard the 2 well?
I like the idea of new pre migraine RJ at the 2/3 and moving Randle for a better fit.

Julius pretending to play defense.

I would say RJ, but he was able to go right.

I like Isaac, and if the Magic were having any other sort of season he might be up for grabs.
Right now, he plays a good role for them and he is expiring so no consequence for keeping him (aside from if he bolts in FA).

Was it you that posted about Isaac before? I thought I had squashed that one.Isaac is ALWAYS hurt plus didn't have an full Achilles tear? I mean maybe a Sims and SRP to have Isaac backup Randle. I could see something like that.

While Lamello isn't perfect, he's pretty great at what he does well, score and assist. I think he's a taller Haliburton once you put him on a good team. And yes other teams would offer a lot , but I'd much prefer him over Donovan Mitchell.
He may be very good, but we should not have both he and Brunson.
Right but imo that would be a way better alternative than Donovan Mitchell and Brunson. We address two major weaknesses that Spida wouldn't, passing/assists and backcourt size.

It's a numbers game.
Brunson(starter), DD (bench), Hart (bench), Randle (starter)
Those guys are locked in. If we get a starting wing (I don't see a C upgrade on the horizon), then we only have one slot for RJ, Grimes, and IQ (whoever is left after the trade).

Cam starting for finals bound Lakers. There is our wing, literally.
And Obi starting at the 3 for finals bound Indiana. (Where Thibs would NEVER play him.)
Meanwhile we are working on a way to start a midget backcourt.
