But they wouldn’t DARE change the playoff format even though they acknowledge the competition disparity. Media and his fans were pretty happy after he won the first all star game in its new format and I expect it to be the same here.

Even when this IST goes away, like the weird all star pickup game format will drift away, it’ll still be something the league ultimately did for Lebron.

Mentally ill take to blame the NBA switching up the ASG on LeBron

Lmao.

It’s legit just winning a few regular season games.

Means nothing

It’s the first year, you don’t know what kind of prestige that tourney is going to have in 20-50 years

Means nothing because it's Lebron winning it.

Any other team wins they are up and coming and a threat in the playoffs.

The conference championship means nothing in college basketball nor the Maui Invitational only the NCAAB title. What would in season tournament do if you dont win the title?

I for one will say I am shocked, I tell you shocked, that Lebron made this single elimination final. Shocked.

No but I do think it’s kind of interesting that the two new Adam Silver inventions have featured LeBron heavily (play-in from 2021 and IST this year)

In 30-40 years we’ll be looking at the origins of these and lo and behold you’ll see LeBron. The Bubble too (though hopefully we never get to that again)

Yes, winning the IST will be the cherry on top and accolade that puts LeBron over Jordan. We’ve seen the leagues competitiveness reach an all-time high and yet, like always, LeBron found himself in the thick of things by carrying his team to a title. 20 years from now, we’ll be telling our children about a legendary run by LeBron to win the 1st ever illustrious IST championship.

Greatness personified.

It'd matter as much as winning the all-star game. Which is to say not at all but the most insane stans will list it near the end when trying to flex accomplishments.

If anyone is using a random bunch of December games that involve a knockout tournament as a way to judge players legacies then they should stop talking basketball

Dude already plays legacy games in December every other year for people like that, can you imagine this?

Nobody would care, if lebron wins or loses lol. Jokic lost and he is still the best basketball player in this league.

it shouldn't whether he wins or loses but his fans will use it as an extra case for longevity
