Let's hope the Pelicans beat them.

Pelicans scare me more than the Lakers, I'd like them to lose the game just to have more losses in RS.

I havent been watching NO games, but see a lot of chatter about Zion not giving max effort. CJ we know has missed time but is a terrible defender, what's making them so good? Depth? Coaching?

Quality wing depth and veteran guard.
They have BI/Jones/Murphey/Daniels(can defend wings)/Marshal on the wings, Zion is unstoppable when he feels like playing, Jonas is underrated as a center.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

World tends to be a better place without the Lakers winning. So I will go with that over circumstantial RS wins.

Also, still perplexed over that timeout yesterday. Shocked it is not a hot topic over at the GB.

What happens when you have a FO that takes the draft seriously instead of throwing away picks or paying no attention to college ball and then drafting guys like Josh Green.

No clue, haven't watched a single Lakers game. But he would be nice to have as a bench guy for cheap instead of Morris.

Lakers have a lot of (good) bigs... Last year we had Powell and Kleber. Ouch.

Shouldn't matter if Wood is a 4/77 guy. That would leave him and AD getting the majority of mins, but here we are on team #9. Maybe team 10 will be the magic number for him.

He is not definitely a 4/77 guy but i prefer him over Powell any days, i always said he could be good in a Portis role.
Probably he will never be that kind of players because his low basketball IQ.

Green not playing ,GWms not playing........ a blessing because it gives the new lineup another game together . The new lineup being Luka 6'7" ,Kyrie 6'2" . Exum 6'5" ,DJJ 6'6" , Lively 7'1" that looks like it can be a top 2/3 team in pace and getting the ball up court and letting it fly. The 3rd ball handler NOT in the 2nd unit but playing with Luka and Kyrie at the start of the game. The ball moves with these guys and having a 2nd unit of stationary shooters with Wms,Green,& THJ makes more sense instead of having them as starters.
Still like to see Kuzma or Hachimura as the big wing but Lakers are starting to embrace bigball over smallball and the 76ers seem to be eyeing Kuzma to replace Harden so the big wings are drying up for the Mavs.

Did you watch KPs interview on JJ Reddick? Man, I loled when JJR told the story of RC telling KP and Luka to stop acting like babies.
He didn't mention, but I think this was the game Luka hit the game winner after Grayson Allen missed FTs.

Is there a transcript somewhere? I have trouble reminiscing a period where the Mavs seemingly had a better outlook than they do currently (Brunson).

I don't have anything against KP, but hope he sucks when it matters with the Celtics. And kind of the same for Brunson. Seeing them do well will stink. Well, for Brunson... its okay since the Knicks have no shot at the championship.

TL;DR

Actively avoided watching that KP thing or thinking about the past.

I don't think Mavs had better outlook then, Mavs weren't projected as a surefire PO team in any year except 2021/2022, and in 2022/23 when they missed the PO, Clippers actually tanked to get the Mavs in 21, that's how lowly regarded that team was.
Mavs success in these years was in large part the league being in turmoil over injuries and COVID, they outperformed their actual roster level.

Chew on this ..... Exum has 38 assists to only 6 turnovers.

Kawhi is back, bad news to the west and Mavs in particular.
