Isn't AG doing all the things that got Bud fired. Players criticizing him and telling him how to coach. Playing without an offensive scheme or direction. Adhering to a defensive scheme that other teams exploit repeatedly.

That's my takeaway too.
How can he call out the D when he himself sucks at it. Thats how dumb he is. Offence is not a big issue at all. The fact that you have to score 130 ppg to win on most nights is not going to work in the playooffs.

Please, just bring back Bud. Everyone has a price where all is forgiven.

We should request/plead almost with Bud to come back saying we made a mistake. If he still refuses, try a non-headstrong coach who has an ability to get the best out of existing players. I hope Horst is already looking to have a short list of the second group.

Folks our window is much narrower than many of us think. We can’t afford to waste this year.

I'm laid up because of my knee and ended up only watching the 1st quarter because I can't stand watching this team at this point. Fire Griffin into the sun.

Between this current thread and the linked thread, you could pick a comment about the coaching, defense, and Brook at random and probably not be able to tell what year it’s from.

IMHO we just got lucky in 2021. Which is fine because we got screwed/unlucky a couple years in a row before that. I don't feel looking at 2021 season as something that makes me feel better in terms of process. More of a "I guess we have enough talent that if we get to the playoffs anything can happen" versus anything you try to emulate

Our defence is consistently abysmal. Indian consistently just waltzed into the lane and had open shots, zero effort in getting rebounds , and threw away sloppy passes in the crucial last few minutes. Love this team but they frustrate the life out of me.

It's good that somebody came forward and challenged our play. I find it surprising it was Portis though, he is maybe the worse culprit for all the things we complain about this team

We're talking in circles on here, but this is not even remotely a possibility.

Edens wouldn't do it due to ego, Bud probably tells us to go **** ourselves if we did.

Stotts, at this juncture, is the only real play, imo.

The only real play is eating our playoff loss and hope the FO has the balls to fire Griffin then the brains to hire a competent replacement, the guy has been a lame duck coach since day 1. My expectations are not high, maybe Horst can impress me again. Doesn’t matter if they fire Griff then hire Doc River/Mark Jackson/Monty Williams after he gets fired in Detroit year 1.

Bud would be the best hire in the offseason too probably, Id want Horst fired now if the Lillard trade didn’t happen.

Well well well, looks like Bobby is ready to make a positive contribution to the team after all 8-)

I’m guessing Dame isn’t happy either since he probably leaked this to Haynes

To me this feels like it's from Dame and him feeling frustrated and not incorporated properly into the offense remains my biggest concern. We have Dame **** Lillard and we cant manage to use him correctly.

I swear I'm gonna slowly morph into one those Dame stans on Twitter if I have to keep watching Dame get waved off by Giannis or Khris because they want to bring the ball up.

Simmons pod with Wos and Mahoney asking why Giannis won’t go in the huddle during timeouts. They were in the arena. Said body language obvious and not good.

Discussed spacing bad and referenced Stotts firing. And why Giannis struggling with fitting in with Dame.

I don't know why Giannis would be upset and if he is:

1) if he's upset about the schemes in general then maybe let the proper people handle selecting the coach next time

2) if he's somehow upset about his role in the offense already then all the preseason quotes he gave about understanding he would be handling the ball less and being ok screening for Dame were straight BS.

Isn't Giannis not in the huddle something he's done for a while, not just this season?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The spacing is bad for sure. Been mentioned hundreds of times already this season. The two bigs is a weird fit offensively and we still don’t know how to play with Dame properly yet.

Team didn’t look good yesterday tbf so people can’t be shocked Simmons went the negative route after seeing them in person. He also has real bias reasons to make it sound like the Bucks are bad too.

Yes, and I thought he’s been fitting in with Dame just fine. It’s not perfect, but it’s been improving, and it’s not something I’m concerned with at this point.

Not passing to Giannis for an easy post bucket nd instead throwing an assist to the Pacers may have been a bad idea. But also all the other things where we traded something stupid for watever Haliburton wanted to do under no pressure was also probably an issue

Does anyone check the nba play type data frequently?

I check it after about every game to see which play types are trending up or down, and I’m a bit confused about the Giannis pick n roll data right now. It says he hasn’t taken an attempt as the roller in the past two games, maybe even the past three, but i remember multiple from the Knicks game. I think our opening bucket that game was Giannis finishing as the roller.

What am I missing?

sidney lanier wrote:What happens in Vegas is hardly a reason to fire the coach. Lillard in his presser alluded to the atmosphere in the arena being like USAB or Summer League, and he was right. It was strange and unsettling to have a half-filled arena and a bunch of neutral fans. They should have played through it, but they couldn't force the Pacers into the half-court game in which the Bucks had an overwhelming advantage often enough.

The Pacers are a hot team with a fast break game that is befuddling everybody. For now. The league will catch up, and the cream will rise to the top. Not a time for billboards and blubbering.

Think you’re missing the point. For most of this season, the team doesn’t look like it knows what it’s doing out there. On defense and on offense.

We win because we have TWO of the top SIX scorers in the entire league last year on our team. And one of them is a former 2x MVP and DPOY. A coach like Chauncey Gardner can roll the ball out on the court, and this team will get wins by osmosis with that talent.

We could have John Wooden, Dr. Jack Ramsay, and James Naismith on the sideline and still not go undefeated. Nor could a basketball mastermind prevent Middleton from bouncing the ball off Brook's head when attempting a pass to him, or many of the other awkward things that occurred on the bright blue court.

My point is not that we don't occasionally look lost, unpurposeful and badly spaced. It's that the adjustment period is called an adjustment period because it is characterized by those things.

This team is not perfect, but as you point out it is immensely talented. When the snow that is yet to come starts melting into gray slush on 4th Street, I predict your anxiety level will be much lower.

Lol noted body language expert Bill Simmons.

Also hard to say Giannis is struggling with Dame when he’s shooting like 62 percent from the field and going for a 30/10/5 stat line that literally only Wilt has done.

Also are people going to do the fire Griff after every loss? Can we at least wait for a 3 game losing streak?
