His on-off net rating is +10.3. He’s 30th in the league in EPM, with a +2.4 offensive epm (92nd percentile), and +0.6 defensive epm (79th percentile).
Our defensive rating is better with him in the game than it is otherwise.
stats never lie when metrics and boxscore stats line up. if your eyetest tells you something different its just simple bias.
trust me i learned the hard way on this years ago... and as it relates to khris its the story of his career here that daggone broke eyetest thing.
if khris numbers or lineup successes change then maybe youd be on to something. in the meantime watch closer and youll see why hes still damn near elite and perhaps the single most important piece for this teams long term success when it matters

I'm as big a Middleton "hater" you'll find this side of David Dunn but he's been good for us this year.
Still wouldn't hesitate to trade him though if the price is right.

Interesting transaction for the Herd today, the link can be found in the Herd thread and I thought appropriate to leave it there. I just wanted to see if there were any thoughts about the use of the Herd roster this year and the number of NBA veterans now on it, it seems as if their may be some auditioning of players that could fill be signed to fill roster spots if the Bucks were to make a trade that was a 2/3 for 1.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

It's interesting for sure, but I wonder if any of those guys have any intention of coming back to the G League, or if they're just stockpiling rights for fringe NBA players *in case* some of them decide to play. McKinnie's in Italy, Clark's in Australia, and Cook isn't playing anywhere after he was cut in China.

hes still good in general defensively as it relates to team defense. the same complaint was used against grayson that he coulndt lock down guys one on one but all his defensive metrics rocked.
there are very few guys that can gaurd a guy in space like maybe 10-20 in the entire league. even jrue gets abused that way. its not really a valuable way to determine whether a guy is effective because it doesnt quantify the dozen or so other ways that can influence how effective a guy is with his size closing out... or giving help...rotating.... or being pushed around in the paint.
khris is decent on all of those things and hes still very effective in rotations when the effort is there. thats why our defense is at its stoutest when hes out there vs when hes not

Need to dump Black Hole Bobby ASAP before he nukes the locker room and the defense even more.

Interesting Giannis talking about not usually looking at the stat sheet but did last night and red flagged the bench.

Bobby is the obvious "he's on the block" guy but when teams call I'm for sure telling them "you know, Brook is available too for the right price".

Turns out missing two of your top three bench guys effects bench productivity.
As does giving your entire salary cap to two guys.

I'm just sad for the Bucks and the situation they are in. It's like watching a train headed for a cliff, you know what's going to happen, but there's no stopping it.

And not running an offense. The Bucks expect bench players to come in cold and hit 3’s if they are on the floor with Giannis. If Giannis is off the floor they expect the bench to somehow score, but they also don’t seem to have any way of scheming shots. The Bucks offense is just playground basketball.

I didn't take Giannis' comments as criticizing the bench. I thought he was just saying their bench cooked us.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
Been trading Khris for years, but the majority here told me that he is going to age well, cause he is a good shooter and doesn't rely on athleticism.
Whats your take now ? Imo his feet are split, one foot is on the perennial all star carpet, considering his contract somewhat matches his productivity and his other foot is on the "unmoveable - one of the worst contracts in the league" carpet, like what John Wall was few years ago.
Though we should move him for Lavine or DeRozan+Caruso ... Bucks Org will not do it cause they don't want to upset Giannis feelings. Having said all that, even myself now, I am keeping Khris in order to keep whatever team chemistry has left here. Shut out to all these posters here favouring the Khris for Haliburton trades ... your basketball mind is on a right place.
I was the crazy dude promoting Brook trades at the peak of his value. Brook has been expendable after Portis break out year, when Bud benched him for the Disney Giant.
Bottom line ... Replace Griffin with D'Antoni , Trade Brook for Brooks or any athletic wing. Ride with Portis and Giannis at Center. Rolo then makes some sense (just straight up lying here) and becomes their emergency replacement.
I would make a thousand calls at the Warriors to find a deal around Brook and Kuminga. Brook could play better at a more organised squad and we can certainly use Kuminga's athleticism.
If nothing is there , get Caruso here using Brook.
What will happen , of course none of my ideas.... Bucks will probably ship Portis somewhere for someone who will get injured fast here and we end up just losing Portis.
Portis is a better rebounder than Brook and he is younger and a bit faster... I dont care about Brook's 3 blocks to the stands , those blocks are overrated .

If there's one thing I would do to move away from an often injured, "not that good", makes a boat load of money that he doesn't really deserve player it would surely be to get a guy like Zach Lavine!

theFireBlanket wrote:Frank Nova wrote:Would be disheartening if Giannis and Dame sat around quietly while Bobby and Griff argued over accountability. Not that Bobby isn’t entitled to criticize the coach, but assuming he didn’t hold himself accountable for his own short comings, where’s the real leadership in the locker room?
Just pure speculation but if Bobby is pissed off about playing only 18mins, that’s 100% on him being borderline unplayable in games like last nights. Hes a slow paced methodical player that gets torched in transition, who’s holding him accountable if he’s the one leading the charge for accountability?
Constructive criticism is necessary all around and it was refreshing to hear Chris Haynes report that Griff welcomed it. But the lack of reporting from the other side makes it seem like Portis was more attacking and he’s certainly on the list of players that has zero right to be such.
This is good tho, fight through the adversity in December. It’ll make us better come April as long as things don’t completely implode and I don’t believe Giannis, Dame, Brook and Khris are gonna let that happen.
Giannis was possibly calling Bobby out in his post-game presser.
He said ultimately the players are on the court, regardless of the coaching staff. They can't hustle, play defense, grab rebounds & communicate on the court. Says they're disorganized on both ends & don't seem to know what they want.
Said the Pacers bench kicked their ass. He could see it in the stat sheet, which he says he normally doesn't look at.
Though it wasn't glowing of Griffin or the staff either. "I try to be a straight shooter..." Won't throw anyone under the bus, organization or coaching staff. "Hopefully the coaches put you in position to succeed". Before his "end of the day" thesis. See above.
Dont' see how you or anyone can crucify Bobby and simultaneously complain about 'Grif's no-scheme'/players' 'lack of organization'. When scheme + player lackofenergy = making Bobby try-hard look like a fool, it's fantastic Bobby spoke up. Said the same thing Giannis did re structure and organization. Not really possible to read Bobby-criticism into Giannis' words--G knows he's most in need of 'organization' aka discipline.

Communication is a good thing, and the article made it sound constructive, so the negative framing could just be sensationalist, or it could echo a reality provided on background.

There is a very fine line between being a 'players coach' who listens, and a substitute teacher, who let's the class pick that day's lesson, but in the end it's chaos and no learning takes place.
