Paulo is looking confident, going to need it for the next 5 games.
Franz shot looks flat, maybe faster release but very inconsistent.
Detroid is team consisting of players i wanted the least in each draft. Their gm is putrid. Maybe they should hire Rob ?
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I wonder if he'll stick with it or try to adjust more. I'm not sure I have confidence in our coaching staff to figure it out. Very annoying.

Yeah first time seeing that guy, I like his shtick.

Also I wonder why that chart calls Jalen Suggs an off-ball wing.

Detroit is my least favourite franchise, hated them since they eliminated us in the playoffs in 2007 and 2008.

Their demise has been awesome to watch in the last decade but I think they reached the point where I'm feeling sorry for them and it's not fun anymore, after over 15 years of hating this franchise I am now rooting for the pistons to succeed smh.

But to your point, I think Cade would certainly benefit, perhaps significantly so, from being in a situation where he’s not being asked to have a 30% usage and handle all of the playmaking on a team with minimal spacing.

But would he play defense? Kid looks half asleep all the time.

We should make a trade for Cade and Bagley! This would help our bench tremendously!

What would Detroit want in return?
Bagley is terrible.

Reminds me of the rant by the Locked-On Pistons guy after the Memphis loss, but his anger was directed at Weaver.

I think it's pretty simple...

The Pistons have made four high lotto picks during this current rebuild and have ultimately come away with Killian Hayes, Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Ausar Thompson.

Not a single all-star in that mix and perhaps not even a potential all-star.

I get that people are still high on Cade, but at some point it has to be acknowledged that he's in year 3 and only has a .515 TS% and is leading the league in turnovers while being a net negative defensively.

I'm not saying he can't still develop, but the deeper we get into his career, the more likely outcome is that he's just ends up being a pretty good player and not a franchise altering talent like Banchero (and perhaps also Franz).

That's really the only difference. The Magic have made four top 8 picks just like the Pistons have, but the Magic appear to have come away with two centerpiece-level players.

What really puzzles me about Cade is his 3Point shooting. That was one of his best skills coming out of college. His scoring inside the 3Pointline was already highly suspect at the college level. But its year 3 & he is still a bad 3 Point shooter. He is better creating his own shot against athletes (but still misses them) than i thought, but his paint finishing is still miserable & his 3 is gone.
+ He was labeled as a potential good defender but became one of the worst in the leaque.
Still like him as the 3rd best player on a very good team but even in this situation he has to become a better shooter & defender.

I know the Pistons have been horrendous this year, but beating a team that rosters two prolific Magic killers in Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic is always a relief.

Pistons are a disastrous rebuild. I’m grateful for the wire to wire thumping, but I hope we get it a little tighter for the next string of strong teams. Paolo & Franz were able to iso score at the rim all night, but I really think our offense is most deadly when Paolo piles up assists as well. Holding DET under 100 looked pretty easy…but it might be. Caleb Houstan looked good to me- his defensive energy stood out.

Beyond our two legit stars, Goga was a true difference-maker, imo. I think he’s the real deal. We could still look to upgrade, but I don’t think we need to at C. Cole is really good too. I still think we need a legit scoring guard next to Suggs to become a serious playoff team. You just can’t put so much on two guys, especially when both are getting banged around going to the rim so much…not a “star” but a guy who’ll punish teams that pack the paint. Suggs is getting better, but another guy who will get 30 on any given night if a team keeps saying “he won’t hit the next one”.

Nice win, but not enough to beat the guys coming soon. Hopefully, we were just enjoying some light work.

*also, why is Admiral Schofield in the NBA?

just 3 things

-i feel bad for Pistons fanbase tbh.they do not deserve this,no fanbase deserve this.detroit is not even a "glorious fun failure",just a really sad situation, hope they will be better at some point.

-so happy for Houstan, guy he is really enjoyable to see play,no bs,no absurd initiatives, just things fitting with his skillset and his role, really pleased, basically the anti-rj hampton.

-oh boy, that pick and roll with Banchero as a roller,oh boy.
please, please, please,do something about that magic staff, more stuff with wagner and ingles with him,and find a damn point guard on the market who can give him the ball next to the basket, with proper passes.

According to a blurb I read, this is the first time they've been under 100 all season. But I'm not sure we did anything special on defense. I think they just missed shots and struggled to generate offense against our pack-the-paint approach.

i get the rant and it is fun but:does he really think that switching instead of drop could gone better, with Bagley and Wiseman as C?

also:many of those mistakes are bad habits from past seasons, not that easy to change that type of mess in less than half-season.

Monty's at pistons work until now surely has not been ideal, but his resume should get him a little more of respect and credit imo

We were missing our two best defenders and the Pistons still scored only 91 and even this score flattered their offensive performance. And their defence was a mess too. I knew they were really bad but I still underestimated their awfulness.

But still, we did our job and got a comfortable win without expneding too much energy which is always nice. The defence looked solid for the first time in a while, hopefully this will help them pick it up on this end against the better teams. Paolo and Franz were great, Goga was dominant early on and set the tone for the game, Black showed some flashes on offense and was excellent on D, Harris looked much better than in the previous few games on both ends, Ingles was back to being dominant as a ballhandler in the pick and roll.

I only watched first half and i couldn't stop laughing how awful Pistons team is. I laughed so hard i woke up my GF. She didn't found that funny

Of top of my head- Pistons have guy below rim wide open, like guy could order diner, eat, and score- yet they throw pass off rim.
Same set, same outcome, this time around Pistons center can't handle ball and misses layup.
Third set they FINALLY score but it's clear traveling ( ofc not called).

Shooting. They look like group of 50 years old dudes who show up for pickup game after kids are finally put to sleep. Airball, zero organisation, no structure of offense, defense so bad that it's impossible to pin point one thing that doesn't work.

I'm not sure was it Bagley or Wiseman, we have 1,7 sec on a clock on inbound, and somehow he loses 7 footer below rim by trying to "help" on player that is inbounding a ball.

This is highschool team. Not even college team. I feel sorry for Cade, Bojan and Duren, take them out and they would go winless for 82 games.

I would like to say something about Black’s inbound assist to Goga under the basket for 2. The inbound defender allowed a chest pass, not even a bounce pass on that play.

Where was the inbounding defender’s hands? Black even telegraphed what he is going to do with the pass.

That is bad basketball for a middle school player.
