So it was exactly how it looked from the beginning.

I feel sorry for the kids.

This is an interesting visit when you consider DeQuan Finn also visiting. Two totally different skill sets for the QB position, sort of in a similar manner to Nick Evers/Braedyn Locke last year. It seems Longo & Fick aren't very rigid when it comes to play style from the QB spot

Jesus just say no to TVD. He's completely broken as a QB.

Can you explain? I didn't watch a ton of Miami games so I might be missing something, but he led the ACC in completion % while also seemingly not just being a check down artist. 3rd highest QB rating in the ACC. I know he doesn't run at all but he seems like a fairly decent QB

TVD's career ended once teams learned they just had to sit in zone against him. He can't do anything against it. Couple that with the injuries and he's just not a guy any team with aspirations of winning would want.

It definitely seems Finn would be the better option but based on everything I've seen about TVD he'd be a fine fallback option. He definitely had a few bad games last year but also had some really good games too. Ended the season with 2 really good performances as well(one against a good Louisville team)so I'm not sure I buy the idea that his career ended. That said Finn does seem like QB we should be targeting the hardest

I've been following Miami football almost as close as Wisconsin for about a decade. TVD is done.

Could you explain I guess where the disconnect is between his numbers and what you've seen?

He was ineffective last season. He started the season okay but Georgia Tach ruined him. VD started seeing more zone coverage and couldn't do anything against it. Bad decisions and TOs. It continued until he got benched. He would have stayed on the bench but his replacement got hurt scrambling.

Yea, I see he got benched which obviously isn't good but it seems he bounced back from the benching pretty well with back 2 back good performances. Did he make any adjustments there or did those team just not read his scouting report or something?
