Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Why weve insisted that everyone of our shots is a contested miss at the rim this game rather than pull wide open threes is WAY beyond my understanding of basketball.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Would like to see these guys again in March. Obviously the limitations of Gilmore/Wahl/Crowl are why Arizona is a top 3 team and Wisconsin is not but I think the Badgers have played well and could easily make it a game on a neutral floor.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
If this is how they're gonna shoot, might as well just call it a game and go home.
Gilmores only skill is **** up less than better players.

Arizona is the best team in the country. At home. Playing an A+ game.

Right…I know it’s not saying much but we’re playing like we should be playing a closely contested game we lose by 8 at the end and they’re just shooting us out of the building.

I don’t think we’re playing that well. The first half game plan of trying to slow it down and play through our substandard post guys was dumb.
Arizona is shredding our D too.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
There have been 3-4 possessions they’ve gone down to Crowl like that but that’s it. Caleb Love shooting out of his mind, the banked 3, etc.
Of course we’re just inferior and stuff like Ballo manhandling Crowl for a dunk or walling someone off for a free layup is also happening.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Once Arizona started banking in 3s and hitting from 10 ft behind the line, it blew up any sort of defense the badgers hoped to play.

The offense also can't be Wahl and crowl posting up and missing layups over and over.

That last play is what I’m talking about.
Blackwell had just played great D and crashed down to secure the board. They motioned him to the corner so Wahl could call his own number for an insane drive right at their shot blocker which triggers the break the opposite way. Dumb basketball .

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Storr dribbling into contested 0% shots over and over also isn't ideal. Dudes like Gilmore and crowl today need to actually shoot the open 3s when they're there. Frustrating offense to watch today.

I’d love to see some acknowledgment that this is now John Blackwell’s team

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Besides running the O through Blackwell, my only other note is this.
If an opposing team is up 30ish, with 5ish minutes left, still has all their starters in, and multiple guys have blown kisses to the crowd in the past couple minutes, it is more than okay to put one of the dudes on their ass as hard as humanly possible.

Crowl was especially frustrating, mainly because he actually can shoot at times (see: previous game). In the first half, early offense would’ve yielded like 8 wide open Crowl threes after setting high screen IF he shot them. I get that they wanted to play slow so they didn’t get run out of the gym, but that’s exactly what ended up happening with much lower percentage shots at the end of the clock. Only way we had a chance to win was shooting variance going our way. That wasn’t in the cards obviously, but We didn’t even try.

Bad matchup, a tough travel week, third tough game in a row....not an ideal setup. Burn the tape. Move on. I still really like this team.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”
