I whole heartedly agree. You're bringing in a new QB, it's a new era, you want to expunge as much of the previous regime as possible. Give the fans a brand new coaching staff and a new outlook. Enough of the FITS BS, which always sounded high schoolish to me. Start fresh.

Except Poles should go too then .

Flus and Getsy have the same excuses as Poles when all the blames is tossed on Fields so you can justify getting a new qb.

No, I don't buy that, because Poles has done some really good things here, whereas you can't point to much of anything that the coaches have done that has been positive.

Poles made the move that will get us Caleb/Maye next year, and got us a true WR1 in the process. He's done a good job drafting overall. He added a couple of good EDGE rushers, esp. Sweat. And overall, I think he's got the Bears in a very good position to take a big leap ahead once we get the QB sorted out. So I think he deserves a chance to pick his own coach and his own QB.

Yes exactly this. Plus, and this is an important distinction: moving on from Fields is not the same as blaming fields. It’s way more complex than that (extension and salary cap implications, opportunity cost of not using opportunity to draft a QB with top pick, etc.)

Let’s be real- Flus is as good as gone too and should be. Yes, the D has made great progress- but that’s just going from horrible to pretty good for a brief spell. It’s not like they’ve morphed into the 85 bears all of a sudden. And while Flus should get credit for some of that improvement, the problem is his role is HC, coordinator.

Bears fans deserve better. Mediocrity is not good enough. I think Poles gets it and has been plenty patient. These guys are toast.

A significant portion of how I feel about the coaches returning, is that Poles can’t fire anyone without indicating his own choices. Sure, did the Bears limit Poles? It has seemed they did. Poles has been pretty effusively doubling down on the final decision.

If the QB is the issue then the coach and the OC has the same excuse because they didnt pick Fields either. You cant hold last year against them as it was a organizational decision to tank. At some point Poles is gonna have to pick a lane because he literally just added enough talent to even be competitive in games this season.

But does Warren not want his own GM ? Why would he simply rip the bandaid off on it all as soon as the season ended and get his own GM in here making the biggest decisions in franchise history

That report sounds like it’s cautioning fans not to get excited about Fields if he balls out in the final five games. The decision’s already been made.

And for the other teams interested, watch these games and tell me how much you want him.

Good opening drive! Nice play design and execution on that TD!

The defense seems to be getting stronger and stronger...could be making the case for Eberflus to stay........not that I want that

If only this team played like this from the start of the season. Would have been a lot of fun.

Fields' ability to escape is second to none
