Plus during Blatt’s time, the championship window for the Cavs was not narrow.

For us it is super narrow; this year and the next I would think. That is why the decision on AG needs to be made yesterday.

We have Indy 3 more times in the next 25 days.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

If Giannis averages 45 PPG against them and we don't win even once we might have a problem.
Lets see if we can keep the best offense in the NBA under 120 points.

Disagree on the Cavs take. LeBron had all the contract leverage against the Cavs, so they had to constantly make moves to please him. He was their championship window and made it known to the front office/ownership at every moment.

That's my takeaway too.
How can he call out the D when he himself sucks at it. Thats how dumb he is. Offence is not a big issue at all. The fact that you have to score 130 ppg to win on most nights is not going to work in the playooffs.

We know we have a problem. The question is whether we can fix it in-season or not.

I just realized Pacers shot 21.2% 7/33 from 3 and still won. That is so gd pathetic.

Unfortunately, even in that situation, Blatt lasted 1.5 years. We’re probably stuck with Grief for at least this year

Kind of crazy Blatt got fired. Coming off finals appearance and at 30-11. I thought league-wide he had a good reputation but just didn't mesh with Lebron? AG is getting pummeled in the media.

Dame loves leaking to Haynes. He needs to stop doing that.

That wasn't mere luck. It was our primary goal. Same with the game against the Knicks. Even the 7 3s they made were without rythme, disrupted ball movement through the zone or just deep semi contested ISO 3s. The problem is the price we pay to do this is enormous. Our paint, with Giannis and Brook coming out of there to help in the perimeter, is basically open field and at the same time we lose half of the rebounds with our best rebounders out of the picture most of the time.

This is a scheme meant to be played by a smaller, athletic team and we are the oppossite if you take out Giannis.

They shot 21 wide open threes and 11 open threes. This is nonsense. If our goal was defending the three we absolutely failed.

That's boxscore watching bro...
I just watched all of their 33 3p attemps in league pass. A few wide open 3s from Turner (mainly in the 1st quarter) and a couple wide open ISO step backs from Haliburton mainly because either Lopez dropped deep leaving Turner open(the classic Bud defense on the shooting Big) or Lopez switched to Haliburton and couldn't keep up with his legs. A couple of our classic break downs in transition forgetting to pick someone or a great kick out pass after a good drive. Finally Haliburton shot 2-3 "wide open" shots from the logo. That's it.

All and all no more that 10 wide open shots for the Pacers. Everything else was contested, fade away buzzers, bricks from players looking left and right before they shoot the ball etc.

I don't really trust all these stat-tracking models when it comes to what they qualify as an open or "wide open" shot after that game earlier this year (I wanna say the first Raptors game?) where they said every 3 was "open", but that's not really the problem here. In a game where Giannis and Brook combined for 77 of the available 96 front court minutes, we let Indiana shoot 62% on 2's, and gave up nearly 80 paint points. The defense is an abject disaster even if you wanted to say that it "worked" as designed (limiting 3PT attempts).

Exactly as I said. We did defend the 3p line and took them out of their normal game but the price was too high and we basically left the paint uncontested by the leagues best rim protecting duo for +5 years. Plus the rebounding problems with either of Giannis and Brook stepping so far our of the paint all the time.

What were the specifics of the leaked instance you referring to? Only read vague speculation here without much to go on about what may've occurred . .. What's the part we know about the incident?

Griffin was trying to gather the coaches together in a shootaround, Stotts was trying to have a conversation with Dame and Giannis, Griffin barked at him to join the coaches.

The fact this got leaked specifically to Giannis and Dame's preferred friendly in the media is absolutely notable.

Griffin talking up the sanctity of the locker room he's been in for a matter of months is less notable than the fact it was broken too.

And for Bobby, what else is he supposed to say? He did enough speaking up in the first place it wasn't his job to put this on the press' radar in a way to ensure it reaches management's attention.
